Just be very careful not to scratch with the metal end of the hose. I wrap a finger around the opening. Or you could use an old piece of hose as an attachment, with the male connector cut off.

LOL Nubo! Yeah, I've been doing the same thing for years. Use the hose with a nozzle to get the soap suds and dirt off but then remove the nozzle and follow up with smooth flowing water from the hose itself to sheet the droplets off the paint. Works wonders and dramatically cuts down the amount of water to absorb.
Unless you're Slice, in which case NASA will be calling you afterward wanting test data. :D

It's not just me then! I use the 'water to dry the car' technique nubo mentioned. I guess you need a decent finish on the car for this to work well (I currently use Meguiars). But it does work, I can assure you! I didn't realise it before, but the whole process must be why my chakras feel so balanced after I've cleaned my car!

I've tried the CWB and I've tired regular 100% cotton towels for drying.
My favorite way is to wash/rinse my car, while still wet, drive it up and down a couple of streets (not dusty ones) as fast as I can. When I pull my 8 back into the driveway, I use the "big blue" microfiber towel to get the little remaining water off the car.
This does a couple of things....
1) it tends to get the water out of all the trapped areas like the mirrors and the grill
2) it allows me to dry the car with the microfiber towel in about 5 minutes
