Applying wax

What is the best method to apply and remove wax and polish? Do you use short strokes or long, circular or not?

Well, I'm using Zaino. I use long front-rear strokes on horizontal surfaces (and front fenders), and long up-down strokes on vertical surfaces.

I like a random orbital motion :D . Prevents swirl marks, and reduces the effort I have to put into it.
