I know there are several threads on this and some companies that have some products out and others that are still developing.

I know some people are thinking and researching this but has anyone actually installed a rollbar yet (with 5 pt harnesses)?

The only one that I know of and claim to be making one is SR Motorsports. But they've been saying that for a long time.

 

i guess the question is, WHY do you want one? figure only pure track/race cars require them :o

As to why I'd want one. Lots of people say that if you have a 5 point harness, you should also have a rollbar and I'd like to put harnesses in my car for track work.

My car may evolve into a pure track/race car over time and the additional safety equipment would be nice for doing time trials (formerly called solo I).

This actually would be a pretty good setup for the car, but unfortunately Sparco is not making one for the 8 :-(

i used to have an autopower roll cage for my 94 se-r. Quality is good....

 

But with the Sparco setup, you can easily take it off after you're done at the track. Granted you need the right seat in order to make use of the harness bar.

 

I think he is wanting the roll cage so his head won't become a roof brace if he rolls his car while wearing a harness.
