Hawk HP+ available now for front

I ordered a set of Hawk HP+ pads for the front finally. They weren't available anywhere before and the Tire Rack still is on Special Order for them. I have Hawk HPS on the rears. I got them from Good-Win Racing (www.good-win-racing.com).

I can't wait!

Hawks are alot harder on the rotors.

That's why I use Porterfield brakes. They even advetise in R&T anouncing victories with teams that use their pads.

From what I could tell from the Porterfield website, don't they make Hawk?

Porterfield does sell Hawk Pads and has the proper fit for both front and rear for the 8. I have bought HT10, HT 14 (rear) and blues from them.

If you are looking for the ultimate track pad at this time it's still the Hawk blues. The initial grip is wild to say the least. They are the least rotor friendly of the possible track pads, but that is the trade off. A step down would be the 10's and 14's. Also a slight step above the 10's but not as aggressive is Colbalt Friction's VR's. After those you move to street/track pads such as HP+ pads. Currently I have gone to the Colbalt pads, but I am contimplating going back to the blues for my stoptech calipers.

Does anyone know of any 4 piston calipers available yet for the rears?

I run the Porterfield R4-S for my street pads and Carbotech XP8 and XP9 for my track pads. The Carbotechs are just plain awesome on the track. First stop going into the bowl at NHIS I almost put the instructor and I through the windshield with the braking I did. I would definitely suggest the Carbotechs to anyone.

When you say rotor unfriendly, how badly will the rotors wear with the Hawk Blues?
