Road America 500

The Mazda only lasted 2 laps or so before spewing oil all over the track and other competitor's windshields.

What happened?

I watched the race on TV and videotaped it for a friend that went to the track with me.

So fun to watch a televised race at a track that you've driven at speed.

Although, I must admit, I saw some cars taking the carosel a little faster than I was...

Wasn't today the first race since they stopped using the Speedsource motor and switched engine builders.

That is correct. I forgot who is now building their engines. They are also now allowed a larger air intake restrictor.

BTW, we ( the Midwest Rotary Rally group) were given access to their paddock area and were given a grand tour of the car.

This guy named Carlos built the 3 rotor. I don't remember his last name.

Carlos Lopez, CLR Motorsports in Miami is who does the short blocks now. Dennis Spencer has been working with them on the other bits like engine management.

During the race the car got bumped early by a Porsche from behind, that broke one of the oil lines to the gearbox. After a lap or so it overheated, and pop! The motor was fine, just a stupid gearbox problem. During those couple laps did anybody notice the car sporting a RX Tuner logo

I missed the logo, but I wasn't close enough to see any of the logos. Good work though Ryan. Nice meeting you.

Press Passes are definately nice to have! It's a lot of work walking around a big track like that though, my legs are still sore.

It was really great to meet all of you too, I'm glad I came up.

Ryan the RX Tuner logo is on the INSIDE of the rear wing upright. Did you just happen to stick it there when no one was looking?!

Ha, I thought about it but asked instead ... and to my surprise they said "sure thing"

Believe it or not, that's actually really good placement, there are only a few frontal angles that would block view of the logo.
