Question Racing wheel and tire combo

Just bought an RX8 6 speed and I am new to the site. I want to autocross the car and it is hard to find racing tires and or wheels, any suggestions?

Thanks,

John

Look under the Solo II section of the pictures at the link in my signature.

Currently using 275/35/18 Hoosiers on a set of stock rims.

Tim,
Thanks for the info, I will look into the combination you suggested. Any problems with the tires rubbing? especially when racing?
Thanks again,
John

They were checked VERY carefully, and they do not hit or rub aywhere, even under autocross conditions.

It's pretty close in the front, at full lock (1/16" - maybe), to rubbing on the spring, but we couldn't MAKE it hit or rub anything.

According to our data acquisition box, we can pull well over 1g, pretty much at will, with the Hoosiers on, so if anything WAS going to hit, I think it would have by now. We have three autocrosses on the "big" Hoosiers with no problem, and there is sufficient room in the rear, we are considering the 285's for the rear, but we'll see how the Tour goes this weekend (they are calling for rain all weekend - not Hoosier friendly).
