Spin, I don't disagree for the sake of disagreeing. Nobody says you have to service anything that you don't want to. I don't think I said 4 jackstands. I would hope that when you 'raising 1st the back end', that you put a couple of jack stands underneath when you take off the wheels. These cars are expensive if dropped....

Anyway, this thread has gone waaaay off topic.

Silver8, not trying to ruffle yours or anyones feathers. Just clarifing as to shaunv74 comment of "you need to do both" clutch & brake when you bleed - you don't - but of course you can - and the clutch is a real pain....with Speed Bleeders, I can do the brakes without getting under the car, just reaching in behind the wheel. Clutch requires significant more prep, jacking, and getting under.

... which brings us back on topic...we were supposed to be suggesting what should be done for track. The clutch is not one of those things IMO. The brakes are. Peace.

The reason I say you need to do the clutch as well is if you are going to switch from the OEM DOT3 fluid to DOT 4 you want to get all the DOT3 fluid out and make sure it's all DOT4 in the system. You don't want to mix fluids. It all comes from the MC brake fluid so you need to bleed the clutch line to get all the DOT3 fluid out. After that you probably don't have to bleed the clutch line but you definitely want to do it the first time when switching over to DOT4.

I hope that clarifies my position.
