Cost = $infinite. Sadly they are no longer made. I beleive that the set Mark bought was one of the last sets available and that was around a year or two ago. I think TireRack listed them as a rear wheel for the NSX, not sure though.
I don't know of a comparable Type-C RS or Type-F but my wheel info resources are very limited compared to when I worked at TR.
You like gold wheels right? These are a slightly heavier version, the GT2, made by SSR that someone on the forum has/had for sale.

If you're building a track car that you want to autocross in STX then the point is moot. On the track a STX prepped car + comps > BS prepped car + comps. Well as long as its the same driver.
Regardless the thread is looking for STX eligible wheels not discussions on the merits of the 8 being run in a different class. Since BS may be going the way of the dodo - or the 8 possibly losing its crown as BS preferred ride - enouraging people to branch out a bit might not be the worst idea in the history of this car forum.

Those SSR's are just the ticket. Not looking for a set at this moment, but I've decided that I'd probably like to run in Street Prepared in the not-too-distant future. The current RX-8 would be crushed in BSP, but I'd possibly like to give that class a crack when the 16X renesis is released.
+1 A similar progression occured with FD RX-7 drivers who went from SS -> ASP -> SM2.

Those SSR's are just the ticket. Not looking for a set at this moment, but I've decided that I'd probably like to run in Street Prepared in the not-too-distant future. The current RX-8 would be crushed in BSP, but I'd possibly like to give that class a crack when the 16X renesis is released.

I hauled a set to Wendover last year for a guy, the quality looked great, and I understand they are fairly light for a 3-piece.
I would say wait a few months, can't run an RX-8 in STX yet anyway, and see what sizes that new OZ comes in.

Put together some BMW/Subi/RX-8 dyno charts, along with weights, potential areas for improvement from stock/ST to SP, and I think you would have a good letter on your hands.

Oddly enough I had an rx8 to DSP conversation just a few days earlier... From my perspective it would be a interesting fit, but I think it would likely dominate the class.

I feel it'll be course dependent. The RX-8 is similar in size to the E36 & E46 3-series, IS300, while other cars like the 2.5RS and ITR are smaller. It has an ITR powerband, but E36 BMW weight. I don't think it'll dominate, but it'll give it a competitive place to play. It's definitely not suited for BSP or CSP and it'll completely out-handle the ESP camaros/stangs.

You're right. But I wouldn't be suprised if they are the lightest available (at any price). I picked up a 15x6 te37 and a 15x6.5 ce28 someone had for a Mr2 spyder and was shocked. the ce28 was less than 6#!!!!!!!!!!
