Ok, supposedly unofficially pending for the next Fastrack unless some circumstance comes up between now and then; pump prefilters are considered part of the pump allowance and permitted. Just as had been previously discussed. Seemed a bit odd that the front fender signal light / tire clearancing clarification came through several months ahead of this one, but it is what it is.

Short answer is yes hydramat is legal

well the engine is finally on the dyno so guess I have to get up from being parked on the couch for the last several months and get back to work preparing for it to return home soon. Seems like good timing since daily life otherwise seems to be coming to a screeching halt over the chinese virus hysteria.

I don’t have that info yet, but mid 260ish to low 270ish is typical on his Super Flow engine dyno. He does use 11 spark plug heat range. So that’s something you might consider for sustained high load track use. I know Pro Formula Mazda originally was using a VP 97 octane spec fuel that possibly included oil premix. The PFM cars were all running on MoTeC ecu with the MOP removed. Which he also runs MoTeC on the dyno. I intend to run E85 myself.
This was the previous engine

it’s just blueprinted and tuned with aftermarket ecu to perfection, no porting etc.

up a little torque and down a little hp as compared to be before, which is just fine by me, though likely all in the range of repeatability variance; 192.3 ft-lb @ 6800 and 267.5 hp @ 8000
every time I look at these graphs I have to conclude that revving much past 8500 rpm is an exercise in futility, at least if the situation allows shifting to the next gear, power is dropping quickly and EGT is on the rise = death to Renesis side seals.
this is the fuel used there with 1.0 - 1.5 oz/gal Redline 2-stroke premix added, Sunoco GT is an approx. equivalent; 100 octane unleaded E10 gasoline
ERC Racing Fuels :: Racing Gasoline Specs
my intention is to run E85 pump fuel; which also is approx. 100 octane, with higher premix.

finally got off my duff and ordered the top plate laser cut that’s needed for the new fuel pump setup. Will still need to chuck it on the lathe to cut the lip flange, then drill & tap the holes for mounting the Radium assembly to it. Still a number of mods required to get it fit properly into the tank with hydramat pickup and also install the lift pump into the other saddle (no siphon). Wish I had thought of all this when I had the tank out, but that’s life. It was good to have had it out and thoroughly cleaned regardless. Which also made addressing all the rear emission stuff a lot easier to.
Or just do the same thing with this slightly modified and bolted to a top plate instead

Here's what I did just to give you some ideas. I tossed the whole OEM fuel pump assembly and made my own fuel pump hanger. I needed to make a return-style fuel system and couldn't find a clean way to hack the OEM assembly, so I decided to start with a clean sheet design. It's really simple and was fairly easy to make. It's just a big steel circle with a couple of posts welded to the bottom and some holes at the top. I used a DW300 fuel pump, Radium siphon jet pump attached to the OEM siphon hose, a Radium bulkhead electrical connector, and some ebay bulkhead AN-6 fittings.
It's not pictured, but I used a 3x15 hydramat on the bottom of the pump (attaches directly to the DW300 pump). It sits nicely diagonally in the bottom of the tank. I also routed the return/siphon line so it dumps directly on top of the hydramat, which should help to keep it fed with fuel.
It has worked well, but so far I have only tested it on track down to 1/2 a tank.

It didn't hit me until I was screwing with my car this weekend (which still mostly uses the stock fuel hat assembly) but Sport Rotary's assembly there completely eliminates the main fuel filter in the system.
I suppose this is obvious to anyone who might do this, but another in-line filter needs to be added to the system if this approach is duplicated.

Well technically you should have a tighter one regardless for aftermarket injectors. I have a Radium filter assembly mounted on the fuel supply line where it comes up in the engine bay. If you intend to run ethanol fuel then the filter needs to be rated for that as well.

It’s a good point. I had it in addition to what would have been the S2 pump module discharge filter, which is probably a wise idea for everyone since the pump module filter micron rating might be questionable. However, in addition to the fuel pickup capability, a Holley hydramat is essentially a 15 micron prefilter too. Injector Dynamics recommends the filter to have a 6-12 micron nominal micron rating. Not sure about other brands, but probably around the same. The one above has a 6 micron spun glass filter that’s e85 capable. Stainless mesh type should only be used as a prefilter imo, not as a final filter.

Question for the seasoned guys:
Has anyone fabricated their own splitter or air dam? Either to replace or add onto the existing OE aero. I do plan on following up with an adjustable 10in rear wing, to be constructed in the offseason.
I just completed my own small project and couldn't test it this past weekend due to snagging a puncture on my way to the event. Driving on the street playing make believe slalom isn't a test.
Anyway, there is a lot of information on how to create one but it's all miatas and civics - so I've made a semi-DIY on my blog.

Most of them went to their safe-space not-so-secret secret forum.
As you found out, there’s not a lot to gain on a splitter having to meet the front bumper profile under the SP rules. Better to focus on the rear spoiler and how you make the most from it.
