I only asked the question about which offset was being used. I never commented on the validity of the magnitude.

Having to wait might be a benefit, you may end up wanting 19" wheels instead of 18" ...

Does it come with a 73mm bore is it bored by dealer to 73mm? Could it be bored to the 67.1 we need by Suby or Fuji?

Factory bored to 73mm...Hubcentric rings can be provided for 67.1.

Subydude does bore a 56.1 to 67.1, so you don't need the hubcentric rings. However, I'm fairly certain that you don't need hubcentric rings with the 73mm bore anyway.

CCW Wheels

Here is a quote from John at Complete Custom Wheel:

not sure what the brake clearences are on a rx8, and at that width/offset combo, classsics wont have much clearence (just over 1"), if they can be done they will run 2200 a set
c10's will be a better fit an will weigh about the same as classics (18x8's in that offset chould come in at 17-18 lbs) . maybey a liitle less while being much stiffer, c10's look like this
http://www.ccwheel.com/misc/Corsair%20C10/
and will run 2600 a set
john

Can anyone tell me what the brake clearances are?

You can still get SSR Comp H 18 x 8 wheels from Tirerack for $449 each and no leak worries at mid-17 lbs

I believe the C10s are 1 piece wheels so there shouldn't be leakage issues.

At the weight that CCW quoted, you are better off buying the SSRs or the OZs.

Just got my P1s last night and they look very nice. The weight is as advertised, right around 19 lbs.

LOL, I'll take some tonight. And no... they're not gold! Chike now owns the gold hotness.

The new wheels are matte black with a red stripe, "time attack" I guess they call it.

LOL! Thanks for the great transaction. I love the gold hotness...very Subie-esque!

I'll see how the color looks against my galaxy grey RX-8, but my fall-back plan is to paint them bronze if I'm not totally enarmored with the look.

I think you'll like it. I thought it looked great on my Galaxy Grey, but I seemed to be in the minority.

Thanks Thomas. I'll see. I love gold and bronze wheels on WRX/STis. So either color is hot to me. One guy I knew painted his gold wheels bronze and the gold under-color made the bronze stand-out even more. It was hot!!!

Gold chains aren't enough to get in the club anymore. To park in the Corvette Corral at Laguna Seca for ALMS weekend, you need the black and white leather jacket, too.

And crossed flags are better-received than dollar signs. 'cause it's about history, not just the money.

the gold chain crowd became outnumbered by real drivers when the Z06 was revived

now they all drive SUVs with 24" spinners
