Well that's a big negative, the seller didn't package the wheels properly and they were heavily damaged during shipping so I am looking for another set ...

Ok, looks like I'm getting a set of 18x10 +50 CCW Classic wheels instead. There seem to be a lot more used 285/30 and 295/30 Hoosier A6 tires available anyway.

NICE. i think the CCWs will look great, and 10" wide is always nice.

These are actually the 18x11s I mentioned earlier. The seller was measuring outside edge to outside and the true width is on the inside between the tire bead seat surfaces. It looks like they are also +52 offset rather than +50. Perfect, and CCW doesn't charge an arm and leg for the rim shell sections either so they can be made wider at a later date by buying deeper outside shells (the inside shell is already as far inboard as it can go). Had I not found these I was probably going to order a new set of 17" CCW's for the same reason.

It was done a long time ago:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-wheels-tires-brakes-suspension-55/18x10s-14912/

I ran 18x10.5 +43 SSR wheels in STU with no fender mods back in the day ....

If I recall correctly, no RX-8's have been posted with CCW's before. Definitely post pics once they are mounted.

I can't recall ever seeing one either.

I posted a pic of an RX8 with 16" Bogart Racing wheels recently in the will if fit thread; first 16" wheel I have ever seen clear the front Sport brakes. The owner originally told me they were 15" which really had me stumped until I received confirmation on the correct info
