with that much contact I would guess he would be highly lucky to keep any spot he had finished in though.

During the race he caught up with a guy doing 1:42s from the back of the track, through traffic, in three laps. He pulled me down the straight by about 15 car lengths. Suspicious.

Very true. Plus he passed under yellow. He might be fast but he needs some discipline.

Between the two issues no way he finishes in front of a clean driver, so don't worry about it. Then there's the whole car thing, ugh.

He posted a video of his fast lap for the TTD record... I noticed a couple of things. His time was retarded fast. Faster than the TTC record, and good enough to podium in TTB. Also in his video he pulled like 15 car lengths from the last turn to start/finish on a local AZ car that is in TTC with a turbo and I know has a flat horsepower curve. I don't see how that's possible to murder a higher class car down the straight. He had to pass two slower cars during his lap and also locked up the brakes coming into cork screw and still somehow beat the existing TTD record by almost 3 whole seconds.

Also I spotted something else in his video... you probably could have protested him and had him DQ'd since he had more than 8 cage attachment points, depending on what his classing sheet looked like. I wasn't sure but tricked him into admitting it... he hasn't responded since I said that lmao. Whoever was doing the inspections on the cars that were doing well must have been slacking...

In other news I heard that the MCE dyno retards destroyed a couple clutches trying to start cars in 4th gear on the dynojet instead of starting in first like anyone with common sense would... those idiots need to be banned from NASA events.

I've always thought the cage attachment point rules with NASA Performance Touring need some more refinement so they don't compromise safety. For example tying a hard top into the cage provides a nice safety benefit but little competitive advantage. I don't think people should be penalized for a making a car safer. Cages that go through the firewall or connect to sub frames are another matter due to the performance advantage in some cases. But I'm not a big fan of the strict "six points" rule.

Yeah, the funny little guy that owns MCE and usually operates the dyno generally does a good job. But they had two dynos going and whoever was running the second dyno did fry some clutches. Not good.

it's really 8 if you count the footwell protection kickers you are allowed.

Ben picked up the Win in my RX-7 in PTE again. What a great track.

Half the field broke or crashed in our group (PTC, D, E) during the championship race...

The Dyno situation was even crazier this time. We hit 182 but the numbers were all over the place which is all the more evidence of problems with those MDE dynos.

in 3 consecutive runs we had 177, 182, 179. In my opinion that means the error is 5 HP or more. Because whenever I have the car on a DynoJet (multiple ones) at home its 170, 170, 170, 170, 169, 170, 170, 171, 170, 170, etc

We ended up having to pile 100lbs into the car...and it subsequently started to bottom out in the corkscrew and turn 6 LOL
