How else can my 8 shed some pounds?

Ti is not a good choice for header pipes due to the low yield strength at higher temps, that's why nobody uses it there. Inconel isn't indicated in the graph shown in this link, but it's about double T321 in the rotary exhaust temp range

Yield Strength

the cost is why I recommended it only for the first 6-12 inches exiting the engine flange; highest temp and stress are in this area.

My T321 header is on it's last leg due to 5+ years of heat fatigue in that area. Have something special planned for the replacement ...

Oh thanks, I was thinking about leaving the manifold alone and shedding some weight along the cat\muffler area.
I'm probably going to wait though, when this engine goes i'm probably doing something special... and loud.

Removed the vfad, fog lights and the water lines for the headlight washers, air con is next while the bumper is off.

Also replacing the front grill plastic with a lighter alloy mesh, which will also help cooling/airflow.

Think I will lose about 10kg off the front

Looks like a good piece of kit and well priced http://forums.racingbrake.com/showthread.php?t=45

Any cons in removing the rubber shield that surrounds the oil cooler and dust shields behind the rotors?

Anyone removed the air con? Smaller belt?

removing the AC components in the engine bay will net you approx. 18 lbs, you can likely remove some other stuff under the dash for more

without AC you can switch to the Speedsource pulley kit for another lb or two and minutely better wind up, will need to raise the idle to 1100-1150 rpm to have the alternator send sufficient juice to the battery

I would not remove the rubber around the oil cooler. It helps direct air into the oil cooler.

The dust shield also helps direct air into the brakes as it has a bit of a "scoop" to it.

I have an extra pulley kit I was about to post up FS. I only used the crank pulley, the alternator pulley is still new as are the crank pulley fasteners. The OE water pump pulley and OE belt are reused with them.

edit: oops, fogot that part of the conversation was a while back. Guess you may have found one since March, but let me know if you are still looking
