Hi there. Ok. So, the redneck comment... its played out.
The interesting thing is, stock for stock, I would beat you on a open road course. Sure you would get me autocross, I have no doubt, but as the OP says, the RX8 is so horribly underpowered, you get beaten by less capable handling cars on anything but a tight course. I know my GTO (aka, Holden Monaro) and the RX8 extremely well, and I pushed my old RX8 to the limits of what it can do. The RX8 would enter the corner at a higher speed, but once you get past the apex, get on the throttle, and hit any kind of straightaway, I would more than make up for the entrance speed, and run right by you. You guys only have half the equation.
You need more power for your pursuits on road courses and autocross, and yet you refuse to race at quarter mile tracks to prove that the mods you've spent your hard earned money on are anything but noise makers and bling. I think you should take note of what your RX7 brethren do, and improve engine performance against real world quantitive, not just qualitative, measures. I applaud any Turbo or N/A RX8 owner who runs 1/4 mile, and shares their experiences and mod lists. They're actually helping out you owners who won't...

This is why I want more power.I test drove a lot of cars before choosing the RX8. I like cars that handle and go good in straight lines.
The reason I chose the RX8 because it IS very balanced handling and can enter corners VERY fast. The other cars were faster in a straight line, slower into corners, but it's my personal opinion that suspension tuning is much more complicated, harder to do, and harder to test, vs power tuning which IMO has less variables, dynos to show power differences, and 1/4 mile tracks are much easier to find than real tracks (other than autox, which changes all the time, so it's a lot harder to get 'hard data')
But yes the RX8 needs power, more power, if NA the RX8 can trap near the 100mph mark, that would be enough to me, as my procharged sentra with 240whp would of trapped ~100-105mph with a low 13 second slip (with traction of course) but I would lose out from a roll to Bolted/hondata RSX-S because they can trap the same and have better gearing. I never really used the power from a dig, mostly used to pass on highways. The RX8 has better gearing as well, in the sentra 4th gear topped out at 100mph =/
I was really expecting mid 8's for a SC RX8 in the 1/8th... were you having traction issues?

one of the guys in my group put up times just about equal to a 5.7L GTO at this course despite him being 95% stock and only running HPDE while the GTO was an out and out TT car.

come out with your GTO whenever you want. As of now my car is stock except sway bars and brake pads.
Just a little friendly comparison.
Dude are you serious? I put down a 9.27 at countyline two weeks ago against a C6 ZO6, my best pass thus far, and my 60ft was still over 2 seconds. Im sure of I got my 60 down to a 1.9-1.7 I could run the 1/8 in that much time.

I have been to the track twice for a total of 4 passes. So I really suck at everything involved.
Hey in two weeks I am meeting up with two maybe three other 8s at Moroso. Why don't you come up to.
I just might do that man, I have yet to do a full 1/4 pass... very tempting. Ugh, but I feel so bad for my car running it every weekend like this. We'll see how she feels after this weekends events!
