I disagree, DSC saves your ***, it doesnt make you a better or worse driver, it just slows you down. If you try to drive with it on it constantly cuts in and really slows the car down aLOT. If you enter a corner and DSC cuts in and you are not dumb as all hell, you will know that the entry speed was way too fast, or you suck, probably both like me, and you will make the correction for the next lap.

DSC is a good thing on the street or for beginners on a race track. But it will destroy your times on an autox course because of the need to retain speed, especially since the '8 basically has no torque.

I think the reason I never noticed the diff when just pushing the button compared to holding for 8 sec is that the DSC is sooo intrusive it ruins both entry and exit speeds, and the traction control is obviously excellent, it never feels like its cutting in at all.

Opps, was talking about learing to drive 8 on race track or autox. didn't mean daily driving, for that i recommend never to take it off. but for the tracks, u need to learn how to drive the car without the restrictions. i was talking about my personal experiance. i learned to drive on track with DSC on first, made me feel like the car was under powered since it wasn't exiting as fast as other cars. on the track driving with DSC on and off is literally like driving two different cars. on tight courses its necescary to slide ur back out alittle(NOT DRIFT) to get a better angle, with DSC on, that is impossible. I never did the 8 sec thing though, i didn't have to, just by pushing the DSC quickly the car already felt different. it already let me brake the rear loose so i didn't see any reason to turn the TSC off as well. your right though BBQ, for daily driving, there shouldn't be any reason to turn off ur DSC. unless ur stuck in slow like the manual says.
