It was rated 250 bhp at the crank and 210 tq.

yeah def.. two turbos are way more torquey than one. and more power at low rpm.. best would be to upgrade the turbos on the twin turbo set up and rolling big : )

maybe i shouldn't be bringing this back upbut....
for the record, the FD twins make 350rwhp pretty often. which is far from stock~250. And theres logs showing 17 psi from the primary turbo by 1500 rpm. is there any turbo kit for the rx-8 that can say that? show me.

while i agree they are alot of trouble to get working right, and lack efficiency of newer turbos. theres alot of hate on turbos that can be made to spool at 1500 rpm and peak around 400rwhp, on the right setup.

I feel like contributing even though it doesn't matter. You wouldn't be able to just bolt on the FD turbos due to the manifold design. Its designed for the traditional rotary peripheral exhaust ports, not the side exhaust ports of the renesis. you would need a custom manifold and some way of figuring out how to piece it all together. Your best bet if you want similar responsiveness would be a smallish (for rotaries) GT30 series turbo.
