1st time AutoX
I had my first taste of the autox this weekend, and was pretty happy with the overal day. I was even quite happy with my AT. It even rained so the course was pretty slick. Overall good day. I do have a question though. With AT, it seemed to get really hot. I could feel it on the plastic parts on the inside console. Now I've read that the AT tranny is pretty beefy and strong, but I'm curious is this heat normal? Any preventative measures to prevent this?

Happens with the M/T too. Our engine sits way back in our bay so the transmission is basically in the car with you. It doesn't help that the CAT is in that little bump that sticks into the passenger footwell.
So did you go to an SCCA event or a local club? Either way, I highly recommend going through one of the schools! I just started autox'ing this season and have done 3 autox specific schools and 1 general driver skills school and they're completely worth it (and you get more seat time than a real event most of the time )

Its just a local club. It was also a schooling day. Some classroom stuff to begin with, then they had sort of stations setup, slolums etc you drive your car through with the instructor and stuff. But yes agreed defanatly go to a school first. I learned a pretty good amount. Just getting confortable with the car and knowing what it can and can't do before trying to go all out was defanatly worth it.
