WTB: Sways & shocks
Alrighty - So I want to buy aftermarket sways and shocks, and I had posted in my local forum already (https://www.rx8club.com/ne-sale-wanted-140/wtb-sways-shocks-189356/) to no avail. I'm hoping that by posting here I'll get more views. I would prefer to pick these items up within a 100 miles of me (zip: 11355), but I'll consider paying for shipping etc if I'm desperate
I am looking for adjustable sway bars (F+R). Whiteline, agency power, progress-tech, anything that's stiffer than stock and is adjustable. I don't care about mileage for this item.
I am also looking for shocks (full set). My preference are Bilsteins (non-adjustable) or Koni's (single-adjustable). I would also consider Tokiko D-specs. I would like the mileage on these to be 5,000 miles or less if possible.
If you have a price, please let me know. If you want me to offer, go ahead and ask me and I'll PM you. Thanks in advance.
Hopefully no one notices I copied and pasted most of the thread I linked

Koni shocks can only be re-built by Koni, correct? I remember seeing a guy saying that Koni generally does not like other people rebuilding their shocks.
The set that does not need to be re-built, can you send me a price? Or if you want me to offer, let me know. Thanks.

And I know about Tokico's adjustment cables. They're like $20 from most sources, so I wasn't worried about that.

The standard rear single adjustable Koni shocks have to be completely disassembled (remove springs) to make adjustment, which is to fully compress the shock and engage the adjuster, then turn to adjust
Part of the double adjuster conversion is that the rebound adjustment is changed to using the **** at the top. If you want to adjust rebound you have to unbolt the rear shock assembly and allow it to drop an inch or two to reach the adjuster with the ****, but it doesn't require disassembling the suspension or shock assembly. The compression adjustment is located at the bottom of the shocks and can be adjusted with a flat blade screwdriver by reaching in from underneath the car.
A new set cost around $2000 vs $650 for a new set of single adjustables. There are three official Koni rebuild shops; Koni NA in Kentucky, Truechoice in Ohio (they built both sets), and ProParts in California. There are a few non-official places that do them too. Rebuilding all four shocks is approx. $500 total unless you have major failure like a new shaft or something.
We can discuss further by PM.

Understood - I will rewrite the initial post to say "single adjustable Koni's". I'm not looking for double adjustable, as I am looking for just the basic aftermarket shocks. I prefer Koni and Bilstein's because my understanding of companies is that Koni and Bilstein products are very consistent.
