LOTS of CarPC system components - tailored for RX-8
Category: Audio/Video/Electronics
Price: $750
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part Fits (you may select multiples): Series I
Location (US State/Canada/Int): AZ
Item Condition: Used
Please note, you are buying these items AS-IS, and I will *NOT* install this stuff in your car. It took me 2 years of playing and buying and tweaking just to be satisfied with the operation and integration of all the parts...it took me two full weekend days just to un-install it all. I will be able to answer some basic questions on what's what, but I'm not giving out a hotline phone number for 24 hour support on this stuff! If you are not real handy with wiring, DC power, computers, modding your interior, software-hardware integration, this package probably isn't for you. Again, $750 takes everything you see, and I will ship this all to you at no additional charge CONUS only.
Here is the spread:

But since nobody wants to pay my asking price, or has even PM'd me a dollar amount offer, how else besides eBay could I get what I need out of the parts, and still be fair by giving everyone a chance to get it?
BTW, what are the going rates for a Mazda OEM nav hood with a custom mounted computer screen? Don't the NAV housing assemblies (with a useless screen) sell for $1200 alone from Mazda?
If you guys (and cute girls) can shoot me a decent PM offer on the NAV assembly (with screen installed) I'll consider it, and just bin the rest of the parts- I'm just trying to be fair here, to you all and myself...it's hard enough for me to be dumping 2 years worth of work, and parts at the price I'm asking.

Just so you know, a forum member here has a deal pending for all the remaining parts other than the PC itself. If that person does not follow through, I will close the ad and move to other means of sales distribution. You act like I am somehow obligated to 'giveaway' my wares to the first person who says "dibbbzz!". This ain't Obamanomics here. Money talks and BS does something else.

If you're talking about the hood 'working' as in the up and down buttons and the buttons lighting up and stuff, be prepared for some serious electrical fun...I looked into it way back in the day, but it is totally a waste of time. The motor is still in there so that the hood stays wherever you position it, but to get the actual buttons to work on a car that didn't come with NAV originally is kinda a pain in the ***. Just read here to get an idea:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/oem-nav-hood-controls-w-o-custom-pcb-172054/
BTW, the real trick to this hood is the fact that a computer screen (with IR remote control, and 2 NTSC video inputs) has already been custom installed into this housing... Which means at some point, somebody had to buy a used factory NAV assembly for like $800+, gut out the Mazda screen (cause it's useless), buy a brand new Xenarc 7" monitor for like $400, rip that apart, and figure out a way to install it into the factory housing, all while not totally F&$(*&@ing up the housing or the Xenarc... it was a pretty serious bit of surgery back in the day...probably no big deal these days.

Not really.. it's still a pain in the ***. I was making a custom servo / ardunio setup to control the raising and lowering of the hood... assuming I ever get off my *** and finish making it. The control works though... small joys.

The nav hood/screen will be going on auction in the next week or so, computer is sold and gone, some bits and pieces are still available.
It was a Jetway MB running an Intel T7200, never got around to installing a front-end....tried centrfuse back in the day and a few others, but for what I used it for, windows was fine for me, just not as pretty as a FE.

so after all the interest in this thread for the screen you still choose to try to get as much money as possible with an auction instead of letting people here battle for it...
