I would shift at 8k and never noticed it dropping off.

Turbo

Sean:

Sorry to read of your misfortune. Short of a turbo or supercharger, there is little that can be done to really amp up the RPMs of an RX8 and from what I've read, these cars are not really made to handle the added power of a turbo or supercharger.

I have wanted to install a turbo in my 8 for some time but fear I will end up blowing my engine. Any idea of what may have caused your engine to blow? Was it the turbo or something related to it?

Again, sorry about your engine.
