FS: Custom Stereo JLAudio 12W-7
Custom stereo for sale. Comes with like new JL Audio 12W-7 in a custom sealed enclosure perfectly sized for the 8's trunk, amp rack under plexigalss with 2 integrated fans, false floor. Everything was custom designed and built for the 8's trunk and was designed to only screw into itself. So nothing get screwed into the 8's chassis keeping it 100% returnable to stock within 20 minutes with no holes of any kind. It is held in place by screwing into itself and just by the shear perfect fit of everything. The sound of the W-7 is awesome, very clear, very tight.
This enclosure is incredibly beefy. It's 3/4" mdf on the sides, top and bottom. 1.5" mdf on the front where the sub mounts. It has lots of internal bracing on all the corners and along the longer axis of the box to prevent flexing. If you crank it, this sub goes loud!
I used a JL audio 1000/1 amp in this setup, which I plan to keep, but if you're interested something could probably be worked out to include it.
Price is:
$850 for 12W-7 with custom enclosure, amp rack, plexi-glass, fans, false floor.
**Price break $600.**

wow that looks tight, an still leaves a little space....nice work
would you consider a trade for a system that does not fit in the 8's trunk,at least not without custom modification (like fiberglass enclosure )...

No, I already have my next system planned out. I have major space restrictions on my new car, so my options were limited. I would love to keep this setup, imo it's the best sounding system I've had yet, but there's just no way it'd fit right in a 350z.

Damn, I can't believe people aren't jumping on this. I guess the crappy economy is really that bad. I hate to let this go this cheap, but I guess I can do $600. Somebody take this off my hands before I realize what I'm doing!!

you guys bitching about price are ignorant apparently, a 12w7 is one of the single best subs you can buy right now, a 10w7 hits hard enough to make your ears bleed, a 12w7 is pure insanity. Not to mention the quality of sound they can put out is also remarkable.
I myself would have prefered a 10w7, for a more responsive system, as even a 10w7 will hit harder then most people would enjoy with that amp cranked up. lol, bump for a great price, and a kickass system, LOVE the floor, wish you'd sell it seperate.
EDIT: a good box for these subs are also well into the 120-150 area, on top of the fact that finding a speaker under 500 is pretty difficult, plus the work/effort and quality on the floor/rack, its a good buy for $600.
EDIT 2: I assume this price is prior to shipping costs, or is it $600, shipped?

JL has been one of the better subwoofer manufacturers in the past decade, and the w7 is one their crowning achievements. When it comes to it's effect on vehicle performance, RX-8 owners should definitely consider the weight of the w7's when purchasing these, as there are lighter, more efficient alternatives with just as much power handling and arguably similar sound quality, but for those who appreciate the overall quality of JL subs and are not too concerned with their weight, the asking price is reasonable, not to mention, they can be assured that the resale value will remain high for years. Bump for a fine product.
