I do but depend on the price range.
If the system (MB, CPU, RAM, power supply) + screen + JDM dash + PC-2-Car cost less that 2-din GPS DVD head + Corksport, I would go with Car PC.
I have unused HHD and Windows XP, that might save some $.
Still, I need interface program. I still dont know which one, Roadrunner or others.
About screen, I guess many people might want motorize touch screen that fold back when pc stop.
I am interest in this one.

yeah. dont think rasp is interested in making any more of these.
really sorry to hear about your loss, rasp. you are one of this forums most valued voices, especially when it comes to wiring and lighting. hopefully another 8 will come your way at some point.

hey guys....
this system realistically cost around $1500 after everything, so a GB would be much for expensive. Also, you have to be pretty literate with computers to be able to maintain one of these.... I can just see all the PMs I'd be getting a few months from now when someone has a problem with a map update or something.
I'll throw together a detailed parts list this weekend if anyone is really interested, but there is no foreseeable group buy.

Rasp,
I have similar situation like you, but luckily my didn't go one fire. My engine bay fuel line came off, i was driving on the freeway and i was in the left lane hoovering with other car, traffic is ok. My car suddenly die and stop on the freeway, almost got hit by ford expedition SUV that was behind me, good thing he change lane really fast or else i would die on the road.

The bass vibrations... the solution would be SSD or move it to the front...
I just realized something... I own an OQO Model 02 and all I need to do is connect the screen and get a few USB stuff for it :D

Bass vibrations are no problem. I had this thing mounted between two 10's for 3 years.
