look man, I know how lots of ppl work on this thread, i.e opinion/bash-the-noob not helpful advice/corrective criticism. I want an answer not your opinion. "Where can I get this?" NOT "What is your opinion on this?"
I'm sorry to be snappy, but i have been a member on too many forums to take crap for asking a question I can't find the answer to.

I'm sure if you bump this thread a few times someone will see it and be ecstatic to fish one out of the rubbish and sell it to you .

Information: don't buy it. It's basically a rebadged greddy emanage blue, a piggyback that does absolutely nothing on our engine.
If your budget is 500$ just stretch it a bit and get an accessport if you need to tune your car.

Listen Jaybird, I'm sure that someone can dig one up that's been setting on a garage shelf for 7 yrs and sell it to you. You don't want it. They were used 8-9 yrs ago, because that was all that was available. They were the very first generation of RX8 tuning and they had their problems. Several generations of piggyback tuners have passed and now we are tuning directly with the cars ecu.
I suggest you read https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discuss...rx-8-a-233937/ . Read it completely, but pay special attention to post 2.

As for me, I could probably use one for my old Jeep that was made before ODB II, but I don't know if I would pay over $50 for it.

Ok, that's what I wanted to know! Thank you all. I have read the Newbie's Guide several times over. I'm just not sure I'm ready to dump $500+ into my car to get a little hp gain. I plan to race (drag) but, the most consistent time, not the fastest, wins. So, speed/hp may not be too important!

Thanks again yall!

Serious suggestion for you - do some searching on how to set up an rx8 for drag racing . There is your biggest challenge - a few extr hp will do nothing for you if you don't take care of the other issues that make this car very difficult to drag race.

You can drag race an RX8 or any car, as long as you get your index time correct and you run consistently at that index time. Moving out of bracket racing and into racing in classes is where you will have problems.
