Bilstein and sprint springs and oem springs
Category: Steering & Suspension
Price: $500
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part Fits (you may select multiples): Series I
Location (US State/Canada/Int): NJ
Item Condition: Used
NE NJ, ESSEX COUNTY
Willing to meet halfway within 1hr drive, maybe more.
Up for sale is my oem bilstein shocks from my 08 40th anniversary with mounted sprint springs setup.
This is a 2inch drop.
I experienced no rubbing with this setup on oem tire size, WITH AND WITHOUT 25mm spacers. The bilstein shocks are stiffer than standard S1 shocks. IMHO the standard S1 shocks belong on a luxury car, it is an endlessly floating experience. Although not exactly the same, these bilsteins will ride very similar to how the R3 feels. They are not bone chattering stiff.
shocks have ~38k miles and springs have ~40k
I bought the springs used from a guy in Cali, and i only drove my car through 2 light flurrys.
This setup will get your car LOW! Sprints and RS*R's gave the most aggressive drops and both are now discontinued.
I paid $250 for the springs, $400 to mount them on my shocks, so i think $500 for them all is a good price. Im FIRM on price.
I just gave them a quick cleaning and they are all ready to be mounted.
Dust boots in excellent condition.
I think i covered everything, but if there is anything else just leave a reply and ill answer any question you may have.
I do not want to separate the springs and shocks, but worst case scenario i might. If the springs and shocks sell together i will have a set of oem springs to sell as well, with ~35k on them.
WITHOUT 25MM SPACERS!
NEXT TO A TEIN S TECH SETUP
WITH 25MM SPACERS
WITH 25MM SPACERS AND 225/40/18 TIRE SIZE
HERE ARE THE OEM SPRINGS.

Tmar had these questions, ill post them up incase anyone is curious
"1. Did you have to roll your fenders?
2. Any leaks or damage?
3. does the back ever bottom out?"
1. Nope, no fenders were ever rolled, as i said above i never rubbed or anything with this setup.
2. No leaks or damage, there are however 2 scratches in one of the springs on the rear left shock, it scraped against the upper control arm. The damage is superficial and only the paint got slightly scraped.
3. Nope, never. The shocks are in great condition and i hav enever bottomed out or rubbed or anything on this setup. Even on big bumps i dont remember ever rubbing.
even though these are oem, they can handle this or i would imagine any other aftermarket spring.

*EDIT: the tolerances were very close with 25mm spacers. Without 25mm spacers you can pretty much have any alignment settings you want. im not a alignment/fitment guru but my gut says a 10-15mm spacer is the most you can do and have any camber setting you want.
I did not have an alignment at the time so i cant give you specific alignment settings to replicate. I think it was close to 3* of negative camber.
Ive had a few inquries to ship, send me a PM. Another member wanted me to ship to canada as well but couldnt get the funds together until the end of the month.
send me a pm and ill give you the details.

sorry, im not looking to split them up at this time.
these are OEM bilsteins
I dont want to say im 100% sure, but im about 95% sure that these are identical to the bilstein HD shocks that bilstein sells to the public, HOWEVER... they are made slightly different, i think something is welded on them whereas the HD are not..*im not sure about this* if you look it up im sure you can find out the specifics of what makes them different.
what i am 100% sure about is that basically they are not rebuildable like the bilstein HD's can be.. which means you can revalve the HD's and turn them into coilovers and you cant do the same with these shocks.
just to clarify: im 100% sure they are different. However they are only slightly different i believe.
