air intake needed (or swap)
I just bought an 05 RX8 with 8500 miles on it with the understanding that there was still a year of warranty on the drive train. I didn't realize that the AEM air intake that the previous owner put on it would void the warranty so I'm looking to put it back to OEM specs. Anyone have a bead on what I need to replace this AEM unit? Is it an easy switch? I would entertain the idea of swapping with someone if interested...

An aftermarket part cannot void your warranty unless the part is proven to be the source of a problem with the car. This law was made to protect the consumer if they added an aftermarket part. I once went to a dealer because my car had a problem, and I still had a warranty. They said my warranty will be voided because I had aftermarket rims. I said what the f**k. Then I told them you can void my waranty unless you can prove that was the cause of the problem. He said he talked to his manager and it did not void my waranty. Basically they try to screw you any way they can.

the 05 has a 5 year / 60 power train warranty..
i think you are covered. as to the aem intake. well mazdaspeed sells the same intake. guessing that would not be an issue.
