When I first saw this car it was parked in someone's driveway (yellow). I thought it was like $80,000 or so...had no clue as to the real price!!

Then when I was shopping around for a sports car with more than 2 seats, a friend showed me the 8 and it was all over from there. I couldn't believe how affordable it was.

From that point on it was love at first sight!!

From: I'm a yankee trapped in Houston!!
First night I had my FD I was at a drive through and the kid working the window eyed my car and just said "Dayum!"

I just smiled and said, "Not bad for a '93, huh?"

His jaw dropped. Then he asked who made it. His jaw dislocated.
He then got all "Mr. Mechanic" on me and told me that I needed to be careful with those old V8's because my idle already sounded really odd.

I reved.

His jaw fell off.

It was great

2.) buncha little girls ran upto my car while picking up my kid sister from school one day, they were asking for a ride the Farari.

3.) I went to my dealer and one of the sales guys asked me where did i get the mazdaspeed 8 from, they arent available in Canada. I was like your not very smart and i walked off.

4.) I get alot of stares / thumbs ups etc... Its nice. but sometimes our cars attract the wrong attention.

The most common question I get a lot is. How many cylinders you got on that so to solve that, I made a personal tag 2 ROTORS end of story....................

lol I remember asking a surfie in my Maths class a few years ago:

Me: What type of engine does an RX-8 contain?
Surfie: I think a piston engine
Me: *laughing* How many cylinders does it have?
Surfie: I think its a V8 mate!
Me: *still laughing* Yea sorry mate, its a Rotary engine.
Surfie: *Dumb Founded* Whats a rotary?

Although people in Australia love their cars (especially the Big Holden/Ford V8's), they're still quite ignorant when it comes to any Foreign made car. Its quite funny and shocking at the same time.

No prob...I go there all the time because my parents like to gamble at the casino. So they get free hotel stays and I reap the benefits with my kids. We go swimming and eat all the good food in that awesome buffet they have. I do the shopping there...

Yesterday my daughter told me:

"Mummy I like when we drive by people. They stare at your car and then turn around when we pass them and keep looking as we drive by. "

Do you ever notice how people don't stop beside you at a red stop light. They stop behind a bit so that they can check out your car without you noticing.

stories

I had only had my 8 for about 2 weeks and was coming out of walmart and 2 older women were standing at the car next to my car starring. I hit the unlock buton and the interior lights came on and one woman said to the other... i think is going to start talking! I started laughing as I got in. I tried to get them to go for a ride but one said she would have a heart attack. As so as I had pulled out, I was pulled over by a local new-be cop. He just asked if I cared if he looked at my car. I didnt mind I thought that he was looking for something but he went for the hood. The after his inspection, asked if I would race him in his eclipse. Once again I just could laugh.... what the hell was I suppost to say? I knew that I had bought the right car.

1.i notice some fingerprint on my car window, and the mark of the forehead and nose. lmao.

2. 2 dudes walked to take their car in carpark while i was like 10 meter behind them, one of them walked pass their car ignoring his buddy calling him, and straight to my car which park 10 cars away from his, and check out the vented cf hood. then i turned on my car with remote control when i got closer. he ran off to his buddy's car with embarassment without saying a word. both of them waiting in the car, until i drive off, and follow my back to check out the ***.

Cool

Old guy explains to grandson - "See the "T" on the front, that is a Toyota, it must be the new Supra....."

I get out and say, "No, that's an M, it's a Mazda......." but before I can go any further he shouts his rebuttal - "It's a Toyota! That's a "T"!"

The fact that I just got out of it, and possibly know which dealer I bought it from, seem beyond his ken.

.......whatever. I got more important things to do than school idjits.

I was thinking of putting some Lotus emblems on mine as nobody around here would know the differance. I'm in green river Wy and there are only a handful in the area. The nearest dealer for mazda is 200 miles away.

Kids are a true sign to what most people think but wont say. A couple of days ago I took my son to school, several of his friends were standing out front, as he got out of the car...I heard one of the boys say, "Man when I grow up, I'm gonna get me one of those, cause thats how you get the girls....lol"

Kids...Precious

Just love the stories!! Keep them coming...

This is a good one:

1. My 5yr. old saw the clip for Daywatch, when the car went up the building he called it 'Spidey's car'. I died!

He love's Spiderman so I guess he thought it can climb walls like Spiderman.

2. Every Red car my 2yr. old see's he say's "Ma, Ma's car..." (I tell him,"Nooo...Ma, Ma's car is much nicer than that!")

^^^ I got a remote start for my car too. You can get it installed at any audio place. I have a 2 way alarm system with engine start manufactured by Autopage.

No prob. BTW, some places won't install a Remote Start on a manual transmission car for obvious safety reasons. If you do get it installed, remember to always leave your car in neutral.
