trying out the emblem idea...
sorry for the night shots i had to shoot in night mode to get the image visible. so its in black and white. couldnt find my tripod for long exposure.
im goign to try chrome-ing the letters out later...currently they are in some silver finish. i tried ordering the nearest possible font i could find to the original. if this doesnt work, im going to have a friend split the original mazda emblem by letters.

doesn't look too bad, but mazda isn't nearly as cool a brand as say, porsche and ferrari. So I don't see myself doing anything like that.
The brand name across the entire back reminds me of those TOYOTA trucks
Debadged, and a simple RX-8 in the center would look sweet.

i think that place does them on slabs of aluminum/metal. it'd get pretty hefty for them to custom design/mold individual letters. plus they wouldnt be in that light plastic chrome material, and even with adhesive taping it might start slipping after awhile.
one place i've found that actually does the emblem material and quality like we see on most emblems quoted me at least $3k to custom mold and you'd have to order in bulk of 500.

looks a little too much like the "new" skyline but if it's cool you did something different, maybe someone should do "wankel" and see how many times you get questioned about it (heh)
