Track Videos-Roebling Road

Our Georgia Group of track junkies were at it again this past weekend. We were at Roebling Road Raceway, in Pooler Georgia, with NASA-Southeast. They put on a great show, and you get a good bit of track time for your entry fee. All in all, we had a blast this past weekend. Roebling has just recently been repaved, and we were one of the first few groups to see track time there. The track was still green, but man was it smooth, and had a ton of grip.

I have two of the four sessions captured from the camera, and ready to share. They are raw, un-edited, un-fooled around with. I don't have the skills to do such things, it takes too much time, and it makes the files too big. These files are a little large, over 30 Mb each, so you will want to save them, rather than wait for them to load.

This first one is the third session on Sunday, one of the best of the weekend. It has some passing, and some other cars featured.

Sunday Session 3

This one is session 4, lots of open track, my best session of the weekend, the most consistent, and arguably my fastest. Only two passes, one I get passed, and one were I do the passing, but it is good video IMO anyway. It gives more of a feel of the track, the new surface and the line that TA and I worked on.

Sunday Session 4

Enjoy.

I have two more sessions to upload to my site, and will link them once they are up.

yep, there are 3 corner sequences, that can all be double apexed. We experimented with single apexing a couple of them, and working on new lines. It really is a fun track, each corner leads into the next, it really requires the driver to be consistent. If you miss one corner, it can take a good bit of a lap to get back into the right line and speed.

Thanks for watching.

thanks, I had fun reeling him in, but I am sure that with a better driver in the STI, I would not have seen him, except maybe in my rear view mirror.

this was taken in turn 3, thought I would post it as another visual.

Allright, now that i've seen the video i can comment. I agree with a lot of curves there's, looks like fun if you ask me.

I love how that Porsche 914 was moving, my mom used to own one of those.

VERY Cool - glad to see that 6 got out of your way. I didn't like seeing him brake MID corner!

:D

Thanks for sharing!

yeah, I did not like him braking there either. He and I spent a lot of time running together. Our first session, he passed me, and left me. By the end of the weekend, he could not keep up. It was fun driving with him...untill he was hitting the brakes in the corners. you can kinda get away with that with all wheel drive on softer suspension, but for me, that is a bad thing.

Glad you liked em, I had fun in the making.

:D And you were wearing Azenis for that day?

I'm going to plan to make in-car vids of Pacific Raceways on the 14th...I'll be sure and post-up links.

actually, my Azenis have been replaced. I did this past weekend on Kumho MX's. They are a good tire, not as much grip as the Azenis, but the held up well, and had enough grip. I would have liked a little more obvioulsy, but they did the job.

Look forward to watching your vids. I love track vids, my laptop is full of them.

Session#1
This was the first session back out on Sunday, there is some passing, and some fun with other cars. We were trying to carry over from the improvements on Saturday, and it was still cool with a cold track in the morning session.

Session#2

This one has an "oh ****" moment, starting at about 8:22 into the clip. Nothing crazy happened by the looks of it, but DSC was on, and I am sure that had I turned it off, I would have spun and gone way off course. Glad I had it on. It was the only time all weekend that it came on.

Love the Georgia RX8 Club logo on your instructor's helmet in the session 1 vid. Seems like he is one of us and a really cool guy huh?
