History with tattoos, yes I do. I have two of them that are VERY impressive that I am extremely satisfied with (not coverups), and I am currently designing a 3rd. My artist has won different awards over the years at the Philadelphia Tattoo Convention, and currently has an apprentice working for her who does AMAZING work also. This place refuses to work on anyone under 16(state law) and also requires parents to sign a waver for tattoo's for anyone under 18 and WILL NOT tattoo a minor's name on themselves under any conditions. It is a very legitamate operation and is modeled exactly how a tattoo studio should be run.

It is people that just buy supplies and start tattooing for fun, without understanding exactly what they are doing (such as different tattooing techniques) that give tattoo's and studio's the bad reps they have today. I'm assuming this isn't the first guy this person has tattooed so think about it, how many other people is he PERMANITLY messing up, while he plays with his tattoo gun?

I'm just saying, if you really want to remember a time period in your life, you don't just go get a tattoo for free because someone "owes you one." You put time, thought, and MONEY into it.

P.S. I've had enough of this Do you think I really care what this guy's buddy is doing? I was just being hard on the guy in my first post, then other people starting chiming in, so I figured I'd play along. I've seen worse tattoo's and its not like this guy's buddy is the only one doing this kind of stuff.

Either way, the good new for him is, since most amatuer tattooers have no idea what they are doing (which is obvious in this tattoo, look at the shading in the 8, the lines, the black shading, the shape of the 8, etc.) the artist probably didn't use quality ink and therefore a few years in the sun and this tat should fade very well, then you'll be setup for a professional tattoo coverup.

Personally, I totally respect that your tattoo has a deep meaning in your life. It's not for everyone. I have a tattoo (way bigger than yours) myself and I can honestly say that I have no special meaning for it. Some people think different ways. A buddy of mine got a tattoo of his first born child. It was not the best. It could have been A LOT better but we all understand the deep meaning of it. I hope you get another RX8 soon.

the guy that put the tat on my arm isn't an amature - he's done tats for 25 years, and not only does he use new, clean, sterile equipment EVERYTIME, but he also breaks the equipment right in front of you, so you know he's not reusing anything. Yes, i agree, he could've done a better job - especially in the "8" - but none the less, i did give this tattoo lots of thought, i didn't just rush into it, and i'll always like this tat, no matter how ugly you think it is - and i'm glad you have a "perfect" artist do you work.. good for you... want a cookie? lol

Please provide a link to his website. Almost anyone in the business for 25 years has an online portfolio. I would really like to see his.

Nice try, 25 years my a$$. That is not 25 years worth of work. Even a bad artist (graphics wise) could do better shading and better lines than that. I've been around tattoo's for awhile, and I repeat, thats not 25 years.

Of course, you provide that website and maybe you can prove me wrong. For some reason I got a "feeling" he doesn't even have a portfolio.

he's not internet swavy, and he doesn't do tats for anyone and everyone, so there's really no point in him making one. Anyone could make a tat porfolio anyway, and someone could really easily fake one too. He likes to keep his work within his group of friends. If any random person asked him for one he'd say no. He's also a retired artist - he says he used to work at all kinds of shops in chicago. And i know you're already brainstorming something else to hit him on, but i'm not him, so it's pointless to complain to me - and i honestly can't back up his tattoo history. But i can, absolutly 100% possitivly, tell you, that it was a sterile operation, so you have no worries about that (but judging by your personallity, i don't think you'd really care either way, anyways.) so i hope you have fun pre-judging people, and i hope it gets you somewhere positive in life.

lol - that's hilarious!!! what a sport, right? no wonder why he's critisizing it so much - he doesn't care about the car, the tat, or anyone here - he's just tryin to be an ad for "his professional artist, thats so much better than everyone else" - lol

BTW, the tat's healing beautifully (or at least to me, i think it is lol), and i'll be sure to post another pic once its healed, so everyone can see the final verdict of it.

WELL, I was ready to let this die, but obviously the members on this site have nothing better to do, so I will continue.

As to Quote 1: He doesn't do tats for anyone, well, I think myself and everyone else on this forum (besides you obviously) will say thank god for that! Next, if he's been in the industry for 25 years and done work at "all kinds of shops in chicago" please, link me to one of these shops. I would like to see his work posted there. Face it, this is your buddy that did this tattoo for you, not an artist. When your ready to stop bullshitting everyone and admit this guy sucks and the tat is very below par, you can get back the little bit of dignity you have after getting something like terrible.

As to Quote 2: If this is an ad for my professional artist, please find where I posted either: her name, phone number, pictures of her work, any type of contact info. Dumbass, an ad usually has at least ONE of those things in it.

One part of that is right (has to do w/ the 8). Unfortunetly I find it ironic that you say someone is not worth your time when I bet 15% of the people on here don't have 8's. Its a nice vehicle but nothign to gawk at, still deciding if its worth my money or if I should get another Z32 TT.

If I was 12, I still wouldn't have let someone do that **** to my skin. I bet at age 12, I could have done something better than what is on your arm.
