RX8 Chrome Wheels

I mentioned on another thread that I had ordered "stock" chrome wheels when I purchased my RX8. The dealer told me he sends stock wheels out and has them chromed. This was done for a total of $1200 - and the work was done at my office. I have not seen another RX8 in my immediate area with the chrome wheels. I find them VERY attractive.......

the chrome wheels were intially offered as an option in the US but have since been dropped. i dont remeber teh exact reason but it had something to do with problems from the supplier.

My car is actually the titanium grey, not the sunlight silver.

The tire guy they sent to my office confirmed the story that the dealer has them chromed locally. Since our business sends items out to be chromed (cast brass) I asked for the name of the plater - which he provided. And, this plater has now done some work for our company.

Initially, the chrome wheels came out with the Dunlops mounted. I don't know if I blew it, but I reqested that the chrome wheels have the Potenzas - so, he came back the next day with the chrome wheels with Potenzas on them.

Does anyone feel the Dunlops are superior to the Potenzas?

Yes, that's what I have on my red 8. When the snow tires and stock rims come off this spring, I hope to post a photo. I like the look of Riccio's "regular" chrome, but I sure hope I like Mazda's dark chrome ones once they're mounted on my car.

Wowthat chrome is very sharp. It stands out a lot. Ipersonally think you should invest it thepolished fender strakes and the polished or chrome gas lid tooso that theres more chrome onthe car besides the wheels.

mercedes did this whole calender thing where they took twelve models and took them apart, dipped each (body) part in chrome and put them back together, imagine your whole car being like those chrome rims..................
