Guy's...
Chill already... Both your comments (You know who you are) are inflamatory,...
There is nothing wrong with posting lots of pictures in this "Multimedia" forum, infact I encourage it...
The software limits the overall file size, if people are on 56K modems and can't quickly download these files then I sympathise,.. but you have to realise that many other people on the forum are downloading 200 meg video's...
Personally I don't particularly like that black alloys, but I really think that the Titanium would look nice with the slightly darker ones from the MPS pictures.. or even gunmetal ones.

I agree. This is the Multimedia/photo gallery. More pics the better.
Personaly I'm not keen on the black wheels, but I'm not keen on the yellow car either, each to their own, were all individuals etc.
No reason to get all hot under the collar about it, its East Moons choice what he does with his car, we should all be thanking him for the invaluable information and pictures he's posted. Should win some sort of rx8forum award I recon.

I think both the Tribal and East Moon's cars look great with the black wheels and undoubtedly look even better in real life as opposed to photos.
East Moon - congrats on having the first ever RX-8 mod (not to mention the first RX-8 on this forum).
Tribal - that's a sweet looking BMW you have, you should put it in your sig .

It would be nice for people who don't like the rims to refrain from posting.
I'm a bit skeptical to post pictures of my mods when I get my car. A lot of people don't like to see little tiny 8" rims with riding lawnmower sized tires on 6" spacers on a car like the Rx-8. :p But since I'm a pimpin gangsta I've got to go with the look.

I like the rims on the 16 better than the 18. Why are there so many 16 in Japan and all the dealers here in the states tell me that they have no base models ordered.

I think the rims look better in person.
Being from Canada seeing steelies in the winter, they usually make a car look odd.
The red writing on EastMoon's rims help the look a lot.
Personally I wouldn't put black rims (steelies in the winter). So I'll be silver summer and black winter .
To each is own as others have said, if you like that's the BEST part!

wow, those 16's look great... they don't fill the wheel well as much, but they're still of a nice ratio for wheel diameter to sidewall height (to my eye)...

i was surprised at the way the 16" wheels look as well. i was expecting it to show more of a gap from the wells.
but i am still a big fan of the 18" wheels. they look more purposeful and clean. there was another post of another optional 18" on the Mazda Japan website, and they look nice as well.

I stand corrected again.
As I stated before if they like black rims, or pink for that matter, that is great for them.
And Domo Arigato to East MOON!

Well, I certainly don't want to offend anyone, but, IMHO, I do not like the look of the black rims on ANY of the cars here, particularly the yellow vehicles (sorry East Moon.. love your car though!) The black makes the tires "dissappear" visually, and leaves the wheel well with a very "winter steelie" look. The profile of the tire becomes invisible, and there is then no contrast or definition to the wheel wells: just big, black 'holes'. No offence to anyone who likes them, just my aesthetic $.02...

Yea the black rims do not do anything for me either. It must be a Canadian thing with that "winter steelie look". I find it very depressing, keeps reminding me of winter and snow.
But your car does look sweet!

I think black rims can look very good or make a car look like crap. I like East Moons and Race1's rims very much. The narrow spokes give a race car feel and the red writing on East Moon's wheels are a real nice touch.
I am not sure if I like Tribals wheels or not. The chrome outline is a nice touch that gives the wheels a sense of contrast. The only thing I'm not sure about is the shiny black coating. Flat black would look better IMHO. I still like them, just not as much as others.
