The exhaust is hooked to the stock rear silencer for now and it is too quiet for my taste.

About the steering rack, the 8 has an electronic power steering that would take a lot of work to be able to work with this setup.
It also had to be moved so we decided to go with the Camaro rack.

More pics later.
Interesting is there a reason you didn't go with a stand alone? I'm just curious my first thought is the wiring would be a bitch versus the plug and play ease of using the gto pcm. But I don't know if their were other issues.

WHERE the weight is matters. part of the rx-8's balance is how LOW and BACK it sits in the engine bay. not so w/ the v8. so maybe not a huge total weight difference, but definitely a difference.

still a sweet transformation though. a video would be awesome

jUST KEEP THE CRANK TRIGGER WHEEL AND IT SENSORS AND OIL PRESSURE SWITCH, WATER TEMP SENSOR, AND YOU'LL SEE HOW THE CLUSTER WORK LIKE THE RENISIS WORK BEFORE. ONLY YOU NEED IS KEEP THE FACTORY ECU CONNECTED AND FABRITACE A AN ADATER FOR CRANK WHEEL AND IT SENSOR.

The gearing is very low, we are using the stock 4,44 differential.
First gear is almost useless.

We are using a Camaro steering rack and oil pan.
And there are no gauges yet, the 8 uses CAN bus cluster so I think it is impossible to use it with this setup.

Well here in Australia, Ford has a car called XR8 dunno if it is the same name in the US,

People here often get it confused between XR8 and RX8\

Other day went to a store asked about car stands, they stated i'll need a strong one to support the V8 in there... i was like wtf?

Now after a swap..... people gonna be very... very...... veryy........... confused down here.

HAHA yah, the Ford Falcon isn't imported to the states... all we got was the VZ Monaro CV8 as the Pontiac GTO (I own one) and more recently, the Holden VE Commodore as the Pontiac G8. I can't believe how similar the XR8 looks to those Holdens.

So, yes, you need to do a V8 swap and change the badges just to confuse the hell out of everybody.

(emphasis mine)

Any noticeable difference in steering feel between the two? I would expect the Camaro rack to be a smidge less precise than the 8's.
