RX-8 LS-1 Project

Here are a few pictures of our project.
It is running but there are few things that needs to be sorted out.
This RX-8 had a blown engine so this swap was the most obvious thing to do.
The engine comes out of a 2004 GTO.

beautiful idea. It is great when you have two junks and you can make one beautiful gem. Keep us informed of how the build goes and maybe you can lead the next generation of rotary to v8 conversions.

There goes that 50/50 weight distribution, but hey....what the hell. Be sure to take vids when it's done. I bet it'll shock the **** out of many 8 owners expecting to hear a rotary.

You would be surprised as to the market for a good swap kit. The 7 guys have their swap kit as well as the miata owners. If you made this im positive you would have interest.

how much did u pay for the ls1? and how much more powerful is it? it seems to me american engines make alot of hp on paper but they're slow cars. I guess it would work on our light cars.

Where do you get that American cars are slow? The LS1 was in the 4th gen trans ams/camaros, which ran lows 13s all day right off the showroom floor.

Great engine, will be very moddable and a ton of fun. What conversions are you going to need for this? Let us know the final cost.

O and I am so effin jealous!
