people need to realize how much time these things really take, these are not overnight projects,,,
I had over 22hrs in the lip spoiler getting it just right,,,
So far ther are over 14hrs in the mirrors, it may come accross complete in the pic, but there are so many inconsistancies(high spots low spots) that take time to work them all out,,,
Im not gonna go make something that I will eventually selll to someone else, and wouldnt put on my car.
If someone were to recieve these in the mail as is, they would open the package and be like WTF this looks like **** and be all pissed off,,,,
The hood will be an even bigger venture,,, dont be too hasty,,,
BTW- there is a conversation about the choice in sides I have somewhere else on this forum , so far I have 16+hrs in making them perfect and up to my standards, just goes to show you get what you pay for, If you were to have a shop adjust these themselves it would cost you an arm and a leg to bring them back up to the quality of the original,,,,,

Ummm not really sure, there are alot of rules to follow on here about group buys and such, so we'll see all these are still in the prototype phase, just trying to show what it takes to bring things to market, after I get all the connections worked out thats when the discussion will turn to "who wants um"

urg... I can only imagine how long it would take to compete the mirror's in total... hell.. I just spent the last 3 hours of my life sanding my CF console liner's in prep for my final coat tomorrow... hell.. figure I have another hour of scrubbing to go before I can actually start in on them.
As for the copyright.. you're pretty much right on the money... some butt monkey will buy a set for the sole purpose of bringing it back to china and having them created at a next too nothing labour price and will undercut ya big time. Of course the quality will be crap as well.. but.. a lot of people just look at the price tag and don't bother thinking about the problem's they'll run into later when they try to install em and wonder why they look like crap. Even if you do try to close them down.. they're outta the country so there's nothin' you can do... hit their distributor... and they'll just change their name to something else and continue bring them in if they sell.
People really have to learn... Cheap Mold + cheap labour + cheap materials == crappy fitment every time.
Anyways... the only real way to get around the no copyright thing is to have a good rep and brand loyalty.. which by judging from this thread.. shouldn't be a problem for ya

Got the prototypes of the Blinkers in, camera battery charging now,,,
Will want to build a sleeve for the lense to snap into,,,
Also have decided to make this mirror a two piece assembly. This way you will be able to paint the insert the color of your car, and leave it open for making things like CF overlays,,,
Once my battery is chaged will take some pics,,,,

hey rotr8. I am just curious, how did you get those blinker inserts printed? Do you just have connections or did you use a company? Because I have little projects like this sometimes and I feel like if I knew of some companies that did that stuff it would be helpful. But I think I recall you saying your friend does this stuff or something?
