Surface Modeling is easier than the experts make it seem,,,
Not too bad, just need to be familiar with the tools,,,
My friend(engineer) modeled pretty successfully a McLaren F1 with the same method your talking about,,,

Oooo... smart thinking on the AutoArt.... just be nice and share if you do that please

Lol... I've done surface modeling before... and usually the end product is decent... only problem... it was about 10 years ago now. Dillusions of becoming an animator or some such crap... then I regained my sanity.

That rotor blinker idea like makes it so much cooler. Mazda themselves should have thought of that.

yes, we have about 7 Rapid Prototyping machines,,,
a couple ABS, a couple SLS(Selective Laser Sintering) and a couple Resign SLA machines,,,

These will most likely be made from the ABS,,,

Back in the begining of the thread you can see thats how I got the Fender pieces and there is a link in the first couple post about the oil duct inserts, those were made from the Resign based SLA machines,,,

ummm this has been brought up with the gentleman that I will be colaborating with and as of now its not really worth it,,,
All someone would have to do is change something minor about it and presto,,,, just like 80% of the aftermarket for our car,,,,

All I can do is put up a fight if a knock off comes up and try to keep people buying the "original" "authentic" piece and support me instead of some goon that cant think for themselves,,,

Nice. I was using the rapid prototyping machine for a couple of my engineering classses and it was awesome. Had to make a futuristic 3d model of a car. Worked out nicely. But i sure wish i could use it for something like youre doing.
