Here it is after the clear still need to wet sand cut and buff. hopefully all the orange peal will be able to be removed.

The color defiantly is NOT Midnight Blue and I am pissed, it is more of Midnight Green but at least I have color now. I even used 5 Quarts of color to get it to darken when a beetle is only supposed to need 2 quarts. Stupid Duplicolor people are color blind and can't count! Anyone know if you are entitled to a refund on their paint?

I've had problems with Duplicolor in the past. Hell, like you said, at least you have color. Looking forward to seeing some pics once you got her back together.

Some of their products come with "refunds"... I would inquire about that!

You know what... yes, it's not midnight blue - but it doesn't look bad at all. Curious how it will turn out once completed.
In any case - this is an incredibly cool project.

Hey it could look pretty cool! Looking forward to the tidied up and in the sunlight pics!

I think a refund would only work if you took paint back before spraying the whole car with 5 quarts! 8)

yeah but even with 5 Quarts when only 2 should work and it is still not the correct color?

it looks a little bit better now that I have unmasked it.

too bad I didn't get the gun to spray well and it is nothing but orange peel. oh well at least that will blend all my imperfections in.

yes it worked great kept the dust and bugs out, my problem was with the gun and paint, I should have used a different color as this one didnt come out the way it looks on the can.

I love this car. Great job.

Can you do something about the front undertray thing? My inner "health and safety" inspector is getting jumpy at those sharp edges! (plus it kind of spoils the nice beetle roundness)

The wheels are cool too!

^^^ I will agree to disagree

I think it adds just that touch that says i appear to be a beetle but i'm not quite stock. He needs it for his Rad to help cool that mother. and i say chop them off at the ankles!! shouldn't have been walking out in front of Herby's cousin.

I swear that colour looks like emerald blue.
I painted my old ranger years ago with "emerald blue" (a colour I found on a 240)
It looks very similar. Just get that paint glossin'
\/pic of ranger. I loved that colour.
