PICS: Evolution of an RX-8 - Amateur Owner

Hey guys. A little over 2 years ago I had just left my fiance, was bored, and had absolutely no interest in cars. In fact, I thought those who drove sports cars were making up for something else they were lacking.

Then I got tricked into test driving an RX-8 on evening. 2 hours later the dealer tricked me into buying it.

I will add more pics later, after I get my Racing Brake rotors and pads on. But for now, I am simply just showing what a little bit of effort, more money than I want to know, and most importantly the helpful people here on this forum are capable of creating. Please keep in mind I knew NOTHING about cars before this RX-8. I mean, I had no idea how to do an oil change if that gives you an idea.

So without further ado, here is the evolution of my RX-8.

Version 1 - Stock

Version 2 - Added clear side markers w/ stealth bulbs, Seibon TS carbon fiber hood, Mazdaspeed Spoiler, Front and rear rotary accents, 35% tinted Windows (Kansas laws suck), AudioLink USB MP3 Player

Version 3 - Added Borla cat-back exhaust, Mazdaspeed CAI, Optima Yellow-Top Battery, Enkei GTC01 wheels w/ Toyo T1R tires, (soon to be) Racing Brake rotors/pads

The reason for this post is two-fold. A little bit of showing off, of course, but more importantly to show any new RX-8 owners who have never done something to a car before that if I can do it, freakin anyone can do it. Most of this work was done by myself, or at least with some help.

I'll add more as soon as I can. Any comments/suggestions (other than lowering the car, I know) will all be greatly appreciated!!

PS - thanks to everyone who ever answered my dumb questions!

You really want to challenge yourself? Install your own springs and struts. Is quite a job for a "beginner" but is worth it. Some good ME time with ur baby. Be sure to give yourself an entire day so you can go slow and do it all correctly.
