First you have to use your Lasso tool to mask off the area you want to adjust.
after you have done that. (that's the time consuming part) you go to:
Image/Adjustments/ Hue-Saturation
You begin by adjusting the Hue to the color you want. You may need to play with the saturation a bit too. Instead of using the brightness slider, I usually do to:
Image/Adjustements/Brightness-Contrast to fine tune the image.
There you go..

yeah it is still there Filter > Extract
Also self taught here. I'm going to have to play with that. I always did it by hand. I will say that thank god for layers and layer adjustments. Photoshop has come a loooooooong way since PS 1.4 back in the day. Remember when Kai Powertools was new? mmmmm, lense flare and page curl...

OK, just pulled up the photoshop help file. Why, oh why, didn't I know about this tool before...? shoot, it would have saved me a lot of time cropping and touching up hair. cool, I'll have to give it a try later on.
