maybe Tribal help them design the exterior, you can see the logo on the roof too, it does feel kinda hip-hop don't you think?
i think it'll look better if the rear half is red instead of black, make it more like a pepsi logo don't you think? I am a all time pepsi fan since the 12oz was white. I like it, nice pick on the veilside kit.

Somehow, I think Bacardi being a race car sponsor would send a message to some that they condone irresponsible activity... Let's do it... I can't wait to hear them bitch...
Ever had bacardi CoCo? I can't seem to find it but I want to try. I love coconut rum almost as much as I love the Goose.

if your not 1st your last
pepsi over coke anyday, but still that 8 is weak.
and I learned early on to buy from revhighonline over vivid anyday.
something about being jerked around when buying parts gave me a headache.

I like how the car looks. The wing looks good to me. But the veilside front HAS to go it makes the 8 have a disfigured face. GARBAGE! Anything but Veilside. Love the rims.

first of all veilside is not rice, they are one of the most respected high quality brands in japan, and are very famous for it, rice is a low class mass produced in taiwan FRP/crappily made urethane sold at swapmeets for 50 dollar bodypieces that are untastefully extrovertedly styled.
sure to your eyes this veilside kit looks like rice or whatever but it actually flows very well with the car and believe me, veilside doesn't just make the most extravant designs they can possibly think of then try to sell it(although it may seem that way), if you can digest this, they actually try to make it a bit tasteful so their product will sell.
and the park bench spoiler is a veilside GT carbon fiber wing, that costs about 10x as much as your average look alike GT swap meet made in china wing, and is used on the company cars of the products you're buying.
and carbon fiber hoods are not rice, but thats subjective because ricers picked up on it so i suppose you do have a semi legitimate arguement stating its rice but its origins definately werent thought up by a bunch of punk *** ricers. too many nice cars have carbon fiber hoods and too many well respected race cars and well done tuner cars have them to be called rice.
its a shame so much rice has been modelled after good brands like veilside and now the look is cheapened.
anywho im not even defending a purchase or anything, i wouldnt be caught dead in any bodykit besides mazdaspeed or factory aero or put any wing on my car more than the factory one, just setting some things straight about what's rice and what's not.

what I was getting at regarding some of the upgrades was they completely lacked class...u can do an outrageous car that has class too it...this car looks like a looney toons car
GT wing will do nothing for performance...so have a sexier wing instead!
Carbon Fiber hood yes the idea is weight savings but since our hood is aluminum savings are minor
also there are no unique mods...like changing bodywork other than a bolt on kit...custom making the interior, no generic style racing seats....rims are intersting though I've got to hand it to them

showcars are in no way designed to be
1.practical
2.tasteful
3.performance cars
they are designed to catch your eye, and even though vivid racing sucks(supposedly, never had any first hand experience with them) they did a good job on making a show car because its gonna do what it was designed to do.
its sort of like a prostitute, they dress the way they do to catch your eye and to buy thier product, and thats exactly what pepsi is trying to do
and also, you think people are going to walk by that car at S.E.M.A and say
"hmm this mazda rx-8 se3p 13b rotary engine powered vehicle includes an aluminum alloy hood equipped from the factory, so this seibon KS style carbon fiber hood will yeild only a 2.1352 pound difference in weightsavings, therefore my calculations sugguest that this hood is rice because it does not affect performance significantly"

That sounds like something I would in fact say. :D I just said it to someone the other day. Funny.
Oh, and any body part not tested in a wind tunnel is non effective, only show, and only for asthetics. Big wings are useless when not tested properly and can have a detrimental effect. They are ALL rice unless developed specifically for the car with correct aerodynamic tuning for the expected race conditions.
Veilside has built an industry on selling high quality rice, ie nonfunctional body parts that are way too flashy.

Don't you guys get the point of a Show Car? It's not meant to be tasteful, like something you'd drive to work everyday. It's meant to be completely over the top style-wise. Sponsors want something as eye catching as possible, for maximum exposure. I think the car it pretty cool, mainly for the fact that it's a top tier Vendor doing something with an RX-8. You know they'll be pimping this thing all over the place, and it will inspire more development of parts for the car. That's just the way it works.
Whether it's your cup of tea or not, it will help all RX-8 owners by giving it more visibility, and more 'status' in the import circles.

Sure Mike ... afterall, Vivid DID advertise here for a LONG time. And as far as I know, they had great feedback from the customers during that time. Why Ike is bringing up bad press from 2-3 years ago makes no sense.

Vivid needs to drive the car along the border in remote locations. That would be a way to round up all the illegals :D j/k
