Pepsi RX8 Car

Just wanted to share this with you guys. We are building 2 RX8's for Pepsi. 1 is going on tour across the country and to be featured in Modified and do Gumball 3000 in 2006. The other is to be given away at www.pepsistreetmotion.com.

Check out our artist drawing of the car below. We have also been keeping the project up to date. Post thoughts and questions here.

This car will be at SEMA and we hope to meet all the RX8 die hards!

yea wataf, use the Auto Bahn Kit!!! I guess most 'extreme' kit is best for a show car? Cause thats hideous, it would look soo much better w/ a auto-bahn kit...

now thats sexy...

Looks nice... Dont worry about the others. The car is supposed to look eyecatching without being extreme and this one strikes a good balance. Remember, this is just an artist conception, the actual car should look less radical.

Let's see...combine rice with a crap cola and that's what you get. Yuk, I have a bad after-taste.

actually I've seen every mod they have tacked on there...the artist's rendition is almost right on, especially in regards to the veislide kit...in fact they actually made the kit look much nicer than it actually is...it looks more like tupperwear in real life

here is what i think

6 or 8 months ago some freinds said "hey you ought to get paid by company A since you talk about them so much. maybe advertise on your car and get paid like that guy who sold his forhead space on EBay"

i thought " hey thats not a bad idea, ive been trying to figure out how to get the money to do some things to the car- a sponsorship is what i need!!"

so i checked out Company A. they said send a proposal. I wrote a very preliminary kind of one. i had never done it before. I waited and waited and wiated. 3 months went by with no word at all. i sent an emai asking what is the normal wait for a response is. I was told it goes to the same person who decides sponsorships FOR ALL OF PEPSI and it can take her 4 to 5 months to get theu them all but she does respond to each and every one.

Well a bout a month later (2 months or so ago now) i got a big fat rejection letter say "no thanks we dont really want ot sponsor an RX-8 at this time" or close to that. then a week later this got posted and now here it is again.

It pisses me off company A cant sponsor me without the ok from PEPSI who is doing these 2 cars. Now i know why they didnt want to sponsor my car- cause the were already going to do this thing with Vivid.

that's ok Zoom...I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want your car to morph into that monster...if they gave you a blank check it would be MUCH classier...and probably have the Fabulous rear...the car would have the Fabulous Rear bodykit piece that is :p

Awesome guys! Did not expect this many responses.

First off this is a corporate show car, it is suppose to look outta control. One thing this is not is rice. All the parts on this car were hand picked by me from racing experience and the car will be tuned and designed to give the circuit hell! Like all our cars we put heavy influence into handling and braking. The car will be powered with a Greddy Turbo kit because it is simply, the best solution.

More details to come soon.

Veilside=Rice, period.

That park Bench spoiler (wing)=Rice, period.

Carbon Fiber hood...minimal weight savings over stock's aluminum=visually rice, functionally half rice.

ahem

Don't get how you can say that spoiler is a park bench spoiler... it's not that high and plus how are GT wings rice?

These are rims that have obvious downforce applications and are imitating GT cars

If vivid wants to give a circuit hell, he would have to by no means add a gt wing for it would just be odd.

Not rice in my opinion... although veilside is played out and a RE amemiya or ings or autobahn kit would be better but this car does look nice.

Good job vivid

Looks like SFR/SSR or PTP turbos might be an even better solution.

I like the widebody kit, gimme gimme gimme. The rest of it I can do without. It's still good to see the 8 getting some more exposure, if it's good exposure or not is yet to be determined.

The wing is not rice... it has function.

OH NO, here we go into another rice/non-ricer thread.
