Painted Oem rims gunmetal
deciding whether to paint my rims black or gunmetal, i had a hard time finding any gunmetal rims on a black 8 so i decided to post mine.
did this about two weeks ago. love the look.
Well the pictures are huge. too lazy to downscale them.
*aware You cant even see the rims in these pictures

Have you gotten any questions along the line of:
"are those wheels stock?"
or
"is that a factory wheel color?"
I get those all the time with my rattle canned black wheels. Leave the center caps unpainted... sets it off fer shur... that's just my $.02 though.

read all the replies, and thanks for the compliments.
couple things, i personally prefer the look of the centercaps unpainted, when i see the centers painted as well somehow it just looks like too overdone in my eyes, and the different color center caps add a different look.
~the rotary centers seem like a good idea as well.
I used duplicolor primer, paint, and clearcoat.
i cant really remember how many coats of paint was used, but i think it goes, 2 coats of primer, either 2 or 3 coats of gunmetal paint, and then finished off with 3 coats of clearcoat.
~my friend who has had a lot of experience painting rims, and even an entire car, did it in about 4 hours.
