Painted my Titanium Rx8s rear mesh and rotary accents
Ive had my mesh and accents paintedfor over a month now and I finally got the cameradeveloped and scanned the pics tonight. Scanner reallykilled the quality b/c the actual pictures look much better. Only way you can tellthese were painted by me is if you are closeenough to touch the mesh and accents. Couldnt have done this w/o RX-8 2004 and Greg
Forthose of you who want to save money and havethe patience to paint the accents andmaybe the mesh then read this entire post

Here isa front pic
The accent really does enhance the front of the Rx8. I think you should definitely consider adding one if your Rx8 doesnt already have one.

i have some left over "chicken wire" (inside joke but describes it well) that i painted black and am going to put in the front openings around the fog lights to protect the grill behind from rocks and bugs....as for the center opening, i have to go buy more mesh....
i dont want the mesh to be seen as i like my black 8 all black....but the silver isnt bad! might go to more silver accents later on....like the grills and the side vents and a billet fuel door.
nice liitle mod...well done!

Looks very sharp. That stock lower rear piece is the only part of the car that I don't care for. Just seems like mazda was like....oops...need to put something under the bumper....grab anything quick!!! The silver makes it look much better in imo.

I bought 2 bottles of Testors Silver Enamel paint since they are pretty small and wasnt sure if I had enough w/one to do everything.
I used a #4 artist brush too.
I also bought a bottle of Testors Black Enamel in case paint dripped onto the black parts by mistake.
Yes this did happen a couple times and the stains are noticeable but you cant tell unlessyou look really close. Ill have to get it professionally buffed out one dayif I ever sell the car.
I wish I had taped down the bottom portion of the bumper b/c that would have protected it from drips instead of just painting over the drips w/black. So you may want to get some tape and make sure you keep your hand steady.
Just soyou know now that Ive had this for a couple months noone really notices the painted mesh b/c its so low but the front accent is definitely a great addition to the front of the car.

nice
nice job. congrats to all who have done this. i think mine looks so much better than the stock ones when i go in to the dealer. the paint has held up well and its been almost a year since i did this. I still reccommend the vents and front mesh to complete the package. just search my posts if you're interested how that turned out for me.
