New tires! yay Nitto NT05

Damn... I hope it wasn't like that last time I Auto-X-ed in Jan.

For some reason, the NT05s are shorter? hence wider gaps

on a side note, anybody has this problem? =_=

So yeah, have had the Michelin PS2s (sweet deal 950 OTD). Got 15000 miles out of those. Don't really have much complaints about them.
Gonna have more track events this year, (well actually I do auto-x more, i know the star specs are supposed to be better @ auto-x, but oh well lowest I could find was on tirerack and they were like 209/tire).
Let's see how many miles I can get these Nittos, I doubt I'll even break 6000. lol

p.s. got these for 650 OTD

Nice. I'm going to need a new set in the near future. Mines almost done. Might get a Yokohama instead.

BIG mistake, but do what you will.

Nittos are great tyres, hoosiers, kumhos and dunlops too.

^ Yes, the S-drive. I have the discontinued Yokohama tires on my car right now. I like the Yokohama's, they're grip on the road is good and i like the tread design.

Whether a tire has "lots of grip" to me is a relative term, I thought the ps2 had tons before I have these, then again I'm sure these'll be nth compared to slicks

I've had a set of these...Terrible in the rain, good at a road course once they heat up, Ok on a 60 second autox course if it's above 70 degrees out. Not a bad choice!

I have currently got a brand new pair of Dunlop Star specs sat in my garage ill be putting them on for autocross next weekend. Thats if I can get may car fixed, the oxygen senor appears to have stopped working so the cat has overheated. Currently waiting for the stealership to diagnose the actual problem :-(

yea, i read ur review and a couple others, i'm pretty **** abt the rain, but i guess i can deal with that, i normally commute in 5-7 miles routes, if it's really THAT bad, i can always drive the gti. yea lol i don't think florida'll ever drop below 70 till like... november lol, i can live with that. haha thanks.

I don't mean bad in the rain as in you can't drive it at all. I was speaking from a competitive standpoint as at an event, your fucked in the rain. Driving on the street I was fine never had any problems with hydro plaining or anything of that sort.

Does anyone know what size wheels the OP is using? I am looking at picking up some 245/40R18 NT05's and mounting them on a 18x9 square set up, and was wondering how that will work on that wide of a wheel. I hear the NT05 runs narrow, hence my concern. I know a 9" wheel is inside of the manufacturer's suggested wheel width for that tire, but I don't want a stretched look. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jesse
