New RX8 owner w/rota p45f

Hey guys, Ive owned the car for two months now and I love it. Just installed 18X8 Rota P45f wheels today. Weight 21.4 lbs ea. Stockers came in at 22.0 Mounted and balanced myself, tpms fit fine. I think the the sensors will fit more wheels than people think. What do you guys think? Ill post clearer photos after I wax it, got in late from work doin these.

I got them from subydude.com The focus mainly on wrx/sti parts. I wanted these in bronze but all he had in my specs was these. Rota wheels are somewhat hard to find.

Damn, you guys are all over me about dropping it. I only bought wheels cause the stockers had curb rash and didnt balance too well. I want to keep it as stock as I can. Been looking at possibly some tein basics. I autocrossed it 5 days after I bought it, then again 2 weeks after that. Gonna be running some road courses this summer too. I got a turbo miata thats been a project for 9 years now, Id rather keep my focus on that.

The tpms sensors on the stock wheels ride very close to the wheel but I noticed they were not touching the wheel and were actually free floating only held in by the valve stem. On the rotas the gap was slightly larger but ok. With the tire off the wheel, wheel in the rolling position. You have lips at the inner and outer edges, and the center of the wheel is sunk in lower. You can probably mount a sensor to any wheel because the valve stem hole is flat. The problem is if your lip is not that deep in the inside of the wheel, your sensor is gonna stick out too far and the tire is gonna hit when you try to mount it. Mine was pretty close, I almost damaged one of the sensors. Its too hars to tell until you try it, the sensors are around 1.5" tall, 2.5" wide and .5" thick.

not bad looking. like the rest, i say u drop it like its hot. if you like autocrossing, get suspension work on the 8 and you can feel a huge difference over stock.

Looks good man. How do you like the quality of the wheels? I know a lot of wheels snobs are somewhat brand biased, but I'd like to hear from someone who actually owns a set of the Rotas. They look just like the Mazdaspeed and Nismo wheels.

They're fairly affordable too from what I've seen.

Quality is pretty good, cant beat the price 187.50 a piece. I also have a set of rotas on my miata, 16X7 rota sub-zeros. Rotas are probably the lightest cheapest cast wheels you can find.

^^^ i agree with that statement, and subydude is a quality guy, i have a couple friends who purchased from him (though they were subaru owners so they had more choices.)

hey one more question what offset did you end up getting?

I have been wanting those wheels but they told me all they had was gold in our offset/hub center..... I am not a fan of black but I love that wheel. Looks like the Mazdaspeed wheel but at a much better price and the TPS works.

offset is 48, hub is 73. so i had to use 73/67 hub rings. Most the wheels subydude sells have the small 56 hub subaru guys have.
