You are likely to get a CEL if you run with a catless midpipe. If that doesn't bother you it should be fine.

It would be fun with more power, but I´m happy with the performance I´ve got now, except for that hks intake:O I definitely need to buy the AEM

That is true. But if you have been around the forums much, there has been a lot of drama over MM and his services. If you plan to go that route, from what I hear be prepared to wait for a couple months or more.

Why does everyone always have to hate on the K&N? I havn't had any adverse effects on the performance of the car since I installed mine. Its been like 3 years now. They are by far one of the more reputable manufactures of filters and intakes. Regardless of what intake you choose you are not improving the cars performance. You are simply changing the tone of the intake. I modified mine somewhat from stock. Heres a pic:

wow, thats not even the full K&N SRI!
your missing the heat shield.

i dont know about you, but i sure did notice the difference. on a cold day, not so much, but on a hot day it seems to give me poor throttle response, compared to my stock intake with the K&N drop in filter.

I feel like the carbon fiber lip in the first picture (Or is that a splitter...) would look sick if it was painted to match the car's color.

does look like the K& N filter is sucking up hot air with that gap to the front bumper exposed...

I do have the heat shield but replaced it with a custom support. I wanted to not only get air into the intake but across the engine itself. The heat shield obviously impeeds air being forced through the engine bay. My operating temps have dropped across the board since relocating the battery and modifying the K&N intake. Other then cooler operating temps I have not noticied neither any performance gains nor losses.

Fake carbon fibre is even worse than fiberglass items with a layer of cf like cheap hoods etc.

Yeah, i'm not too sure about that, (although I am going to pick up some 3M DI-NOC Carbon Fiber in an hour for little things on the interior), I'm not much of a fan of skinning.

Tell me how hard it was when you´re done =) does this carbon fiber sticker have a shinny finish? Could i put this on the sideskirts(I think it would rip off very easily).

Remember to use an hairdryer to get the best results!

if you have the $$ buy doors, hood, trunk as much as you can Carbon fiber, less weight = faster car. You can t get too much HP out of a rx8 unless you supercharged turbo or Nitrous. Get rid of the big rims too, and focus on the suspension, also cold air intake like many has previous mentioned.

I will let you know how it goes, and no, it has a matte finish. You put any skin on skirts, touch down on anything and it will peel off, I'd recommend just getting some seibon skirts or something.

I´ve desided to only get the AEM cold air intake (red). and I can´t afford getting those carbon parts they cost around 1000-2600€ each. So I´m only carbon fibering the mirrors, side skirts and maybe the hood. And I love my rims :D

In my opinion my sideskirts that I have now in carbon, would look better than seibons...
