well, most people that put an exhaust on a $30,000 dollor car are looking for performance increase's and dont care about sound, but in truth... The Greddy is only LOUD when you get on it, can hear the stereo very well at level 7 going about 120 down the autobahn

success07, I don't think I've run across your dyno results yet (other than these really nice vid's). Where's the beef? Er, I mean, where's the numbers?
Really nice pix from all contributors in this thread, btw! Real nice. You've gotten my interest renewed in Clear Bra again. ...Gotta do that...
Oh yeah, RX8freehk's caliper paint job is just so perfect! If I had yellow, I would jump on that one real quickly. I can't believe how closely that paint matched!
And one more thing (I think) (I really enjoyed reading thru this whole thread btw, lots of good vibes ) thanks for putting those two exhaust sound clips right together like that. For that reason, I was able to get both going simultaneously, for a really good comparison. I think what I'm doing is waiting on Stage 2, really, and more results on which exhaust matches stage 2 real well for non-racing, not-too-darn-loud use. Really, I dunno what I really want quite yet, but I so like the sound of both Greddy SP2 and Borla about equally well. Those Borla flames are a trip! Wow! I think Greddy is more muted, deeper throaty sounding, agreed? I like that deep throaty sound, but not too deep and throaty. It's gotta sound like it can breath real easily too. (My stage 1 is on order. The Stage 2 upgrade is in my future, I think, maybe not real soon, maybe sooner than even I think, who knows...:D)

I haven't posted dyno charts as of yet because I don't have any readily available. They are saved at the RX8Store on their dyno machine. I am planning to head over there sometime soon, so maybe I can get them then.
If you're still on the fence with exhausts, I have a write up on the RX8Store Exhaust if you do a search and maybe that will help lean you in a certain direction. Plenty out there to choose from but this one works great for me. Price, quality, looks and sound made the decision for me. Have fun and Good Luck!

"I had never considered yellow before this car. Not even close but the first time I saw the RX8 in yellow, I was hooked. It was a different yellow from the ones that I had seen before".....
Success:
I hear ya brother....my normal approach would have been silver/grey but when I saw this car sitting on the showroom floor it was a done deal....nice job on the clearcoat front, I've got to get my **** in gear on that.
White paint is offered in Japan, there are a few pics of them floating around if you look hard enough.

Success, brilliant job. Outstanding. I've gone through this topic several times and have read every reply - you've got yourself an awesome car. Thanks for posting all the brilliant pictures and movies.
I've been following the RX-8 for a couple years now and have been a fan of the RX-7 as well. I'm only 16 (and just recently got my first car, a '95 Mitsubishi Eclipse) but I'm planning on getting an RX-8 one day some time down that long road of life.
Thanks again

Yellow?
So many different yellows out there. what does it actually look like. every PC monitor is different. Is there another car (or several) that you can compare it to to give me a better idea of what it actually looks like. My Mazda dealer is about 214 miles away. if the yellow is nice i will reserve the car but if it is a creamy yellow (as it appears to me in these pics) i will then go for blue or silver.
Thoughts?
written b4 i bought it

Berni: I think pictures definitely make the yellow 8's look less bright and more "creamy" than they actually are. I was frustrated because every pic I took of my car made it look a lot more dull than it actually is. I played around in an image editing program for a while and figured out that by increasing color saturation I could make the yellow stand out a little more (and therefore come closer to what I believe they look like in person). I posted them here:

Anyone agree and/or have this same problem when taking pics of the yellow?
Durahl
ps: noticed that you got the Yellow yourself, so you must have had a chance to see it in person
