Jeff, I meant sad as in a bunch of people watching a live webcam of an engine for entertainment is sad, not the fact you are doing great work and sharing it, haha!!
PS Congrats on getting it done....

That was a great time. I just got home from an AZMC mod meet in which Jeff pretty much slept through most of it. I can't blame him!
I hope everyone enjoyed the show. I was glad I could "supervise" as I wasn't much help with the swap. I'm still a novice with much of this stuff. The motor performed well and there's no issues as far as I know.
I hope that this spurs more of these kinds of things. It's great to see the community able to see everyone in action.

I wish I could do a Live Webcast at my bodyshop to see when I'm getting my damn car back.
But hey, I'd love to attend one of these. Next time someone is doing something like this, send me a invite. I'll bring the food

Eric, I think the question was can you lower the engine into place with the turbo and manifold attached?
I too wonder!
And you and MM should have made something of the red pulley. Think of the mystique from MM (BHR?) branded and painted red pulleys!

Yeah, the motor went in with the turbo and manifold in place and there is room to spare.
The main issues are the A/C compressor (which is really difficult to move out of the way without damaging it) and the wastegate actuator which should be removed since it sticks out a bit.

mine was reinstalled with the wastegate actuator, the turbo, manifold, etc in place. Just need someone to man the engine lift, and someone to guide the engine...
That AC compressor is the biggest bitch of the entire thing.

Of course, I didn't have to open my motor and we spent a lot of time smoking and drinking. And occasionally napping.
And fabricating new stuffs:
I'm pretty sure we will be WEBcasting just about everything from now on.
