Installed my RP Supercat *video*
I received the RP Supercat I ordered from rx7.com (Fast shipping and friendly staff btw). The install was pretty straight forward, though it wasn't without a hiccup or two.
The bolts holding connecting the down pipe to the stock cat were fused to oblivion, so after stripping two of them with the impact wrench, I just decided to take the angle grinder to them. Problem solved.
Took the stock cat off and was surprised to see the inside in this condition:
Probably happened when I scraped the cat a while back. Though it makes me wonder where the missing chunks went...
Also, the RB + RP is not nearly as loud as I anticipated. Honestly, through 6k rpms, the sound is almost exactly the same as before, with a slight difference between 4k and 5k. But above 6k, its noticeably louder. If the RB sound by itself was a 3 on a 1-10 scale, its probably only a 4 or 5 now.
Anyways, took a video earlier this evening. This is with the RB catback, K&N intake and the RP supercat.

RP Supercat Video
Wow
Not only is the exhaust note primo, but this video could be the opening or closing for a movie; notice the nice West Texas sunset (I'm nearby in Midland Tx), and even has the dog barking!

Damn, this sounds really nice. Is it really loud inside of the car? Also, is there any smell? CEL? Haha, sorry for all these questions. I have almost a similar set up except the intake.

Inside the cabin, there is more intake noise than exhaust at WOT. It almost completely drowns out the exhaust. During normal driving, the exhaust note is very mellow and smooth. I can listen to music at 7 or 8 or have a conversation, no problem. Additionally, I have zero droning above 3k rpms.
There're also the nice exhaust pops between shifts and a throaty burble during deceleration, audible with the windows down.
There were the normal smells of all the oils and grease burning off after the install, but now I don't notice any smell at all.
Threw a CEL during my first start-up; may have been due to the leak between the cat and catback. Fixed that, and reset the ECU. ~50 miles and I haven't seen it since.

That backdrop was completely unintentional lol.
So was catching a nice shot of the planet Venus in the sky. Its that "star" you can see in the background.
Frequent visits to the astronomy observatory during elementary school FTW :P
