I'm sick and tired of...

... everyone mentioning how summer is just around the corner and how they're gonna have their sunroofs open!!

So I got my own!! I was very hesistant at first because of fear of leakage and ugliness like how there was a thread a while ago where some lady got hers done wrong. Despite that, mine came out splendid! Completely flush with the roof and at such a remarkable price! $750 + tax! my dealership referred me to a sunroof shop that they were partnered with and i couldn't be any happier.. :D

SUmmer is just around the corner and it's gonna be so nice with my sunroof open... :p

Wow!

That's sweet!!

Since you went aftermarket, did you lose any headroom?

What about the structural integrity? Any effect. I see that there was a cross member in the middle of our roof. Did they eliminate that?

All in all, looks pretty sweet. Where'd you get it done? I'm in G'burg too.

If I didn't know any better I'd think it was stock. They did a nice job! Enjoy

I made sure they knew not to tamper with the cross member before even going through w/ the install since i read that one thread. As for head space, there was no reduction that I'm aware of. If anything, it feels as if there's more headspace. I got mine done at this shop in Laurel. They do sunroofs, interior leather, and much more. I might go back to get leather seats in the near future since I trust them. If you want contact info, just PM me

Looks good- as someone said looks stock. The best compliment one can give. A couple questions for people who might be interested. What kind of warranty comes with that? Is there shade to cover in case you don't want light to come through and how does that go? $? Is it noisy?.. stock one comes with a pop up wind defector.

To answer your questions, there's a 3-year warranty. The sunroof was specifically made for cars w/ small roofs like the 8. Only thing that bothers me about it is that the sunroof could not be installed with a sunshade cuz of its size and there's no auto-open button so u have to hold on to it, but at the astonishing price I got it for I can't complain. The glass is made of heat resistant material and is tinted to about 20% i'd say. I plan on just slapping on another 5% tint over it to block out all the sunlight.
There isn't a wind deflector nor does there need to be one. It is absolutely soundless and when i have my subs on max, there's no rattling whatsoever. The brand name is Hollandia in case you guys wanna look it up and here are some websites.

nice woof but I hate to say that you will be lucky if you don't have any leaks. Aftermarket sunwoofs are notorious for leaks and getting stuck at the wrong times. good luck and enjoy!

This is something I'd consider doing. I wanted a sunroof so bad when I was first deciding which trim to get. Having found out that the factory sunroof cuts out almost 1-2 inches of head room was enough to kill the thought of having one. So now, with an aftermarket one I can get the best of both worlds. Too bad I don't live anywhere near an installer.
