Yes, it does interfere with the airflow and in theory it should interfere even more than it actually does but in real life there is a small decrease in the air that actually hits the radiator.
I believe the highest percentage of airflow to the radiator actually goes from the gap underneath. The front spoiler at the bottom of the bumper acts very efficiently by pushing the mass of air that flows through upwards and accelerates it straight into the radiator.
I ran the car whole summer at temperatures of 109°F(43°C)++ and I had no problems..

 

I am pretty sure the radiator gets cooled by air coming in from the air dam below that plastic grill. The only thing that connects to the grill is the air intake/vfad and the plate sits above the opening. The rad is angled as well so air gets scooped into the bay.

If you look at the plastic grill, only about a quarter of it is open to let air in, most of it is just solid plastic.

If the car relied of that plastic front grill at all for cooling, we'd all be not be driving these cars.
